I can’t look at it but figured maybe someone here would enjoy it.

That stitch job looks wild. Or did they use staples?
Hope you are pain free soon, OP.

Thanks 😊 I think the Dr said they were the ones that dissolve on their own but I was high during that conversation 😂

Wow I thought mine looked kinda iffy, for me they used the ones that dissolve but only internally. They used staples on the skin, I was able to walk day 2! How long are you out of commission for?

Day 2?! I’m so jealous! I did 2 weeks in a splint. Then was put into a cast that will be on for 4 weeks total. Then into a walking boot and physical therapy for 6 weeks. Haven’t been told anything about when I can walk again 😭

I’ve ruptured my Achilles and had surgery in a similar spot. It was definitely weird to look at. Sucked for the first few days after surgery. Hope you’re doing okay. It was god awful and then all the sudden it was bearable. You got this friend!

Thanks, it’s been almost a month for me. I haven’t taken a pain pill in 48 hours 🥳 Is everything back to normal for you? I’m stressing about the physical therapy process.

Stress about missing PT. PT is super beneficial and be sure to do your home exercises too.

There’s a part of my brain that’s telling to peel it just like a scab.

Thanks, that gave me chills 😂 Luckily it’s hidden under a cast so I don’t have to see it or think about it.

Your hospital needs better stitching people. This is horrifying. That part in the middle of pic 1 is STILL OPEN. It's so obvious even in pic 2 when you know what to look for.

😬 The cast is coming off on Monday so I’ll have him look at it and have new pics taken.

Vicodin? Be careful, next theyll give you a cane, and after that youll turn into a snarky yet genius doctor at a hospital that surprisingly hasnt been sued for medical malpractice once

Fucking OW. I hope they gave you some of that good-good to help with the pain.

I had 30 of the really good pills, then they bumped me down to 30 of the Vicodin. I barely used them. Thankfully, the pain hasn’t been horrible since the first couple of days.

Achilles tendon had a bone spur growing into it and tearing it up. Surgeon had to use remove the extra bone growth then used the tendon from my big toe to repair it and 2 screws to secure it in place.
