Hi! I’m 29F, and I generally like my face, but I’ve always struggled with facial fullness in my cheeks.
I’ve had full cheeks my entire life, it’s genetics. I’d have to get close to being underweight to achieve the sharper facial definition I want but I prefer my current weight.
My face also looks quite different depending on the angle which is frustrating, because sometimes I feel like a catfish. It looks worse when I take a phone selfie straight on.
I get compliments in real life, but I don’t always feel like my features translate well in photos or videos. I particularly dislike candid pictures taken by friends because my face can look so much rounder and less defined.
I’ve heard that facial fat naturally decreases with age, but I’m skeptical that this will make much of a difference for me, given how my face has always been structured.
Even relatively small amounts of weight gain seem to go straight to my cheeks and make my face noticeably rounder.
I already lift weights and eat reasonably well.
Ideally, I’d like to address this now rather than spend years feeling uncomfortable with candid pictures of myself. At the same time, I don’t want to get something done that ruins my features/facial harmony or leaves me regretting it as I age.
I’ve considered buccal fat removal, but it feels extreme given the side effects I have read about.
Is there anything else I can get done for shaper facial definition and less fullness?
I’m open to hearing that this is something I’d be better off accepting.
Thank you!!
