Four days ago, this fundraiser came to a sudden halt. And while $6,685 changed my immediate situation in ways I genuinely needed, there’s still one pretty big piece left hanging.
First, let me say THANK YOU. Every single person who donated, shared, sent a message or helped get this in front of more people helped me crawl out of an immediate financial hole. I was in serious trouble, and y’all helped me breathe again.
The money helped me get out of extreme debt, cover Ditto’s insurance deductible and replace my car on Saturday. I can get back to work. I have transportation. That is HUGE.
Am I still living in extreme poverty? Absolutely. 😂 But at least I’m not trying to climb out of the hole with a shovel made of wet cardboard anymore.
Here’s what’s still unresolved: I owe my best friend $4,500 for the car that was wrecked.
They helped me when I needed a vehicle, and I need to make that right. I don’t take that generosity lightly, and I don’t want to leave them carrying the cost of this situation.
So I’m asking one more time: can we get this fundraiser moving again?
If 90 people gave $50, we’d cover the remaining $4,500. If that’s not realistic for you, $5 helps. $10 helps. Sharing this post might put it in front of someone who can help close the gap.
I’m not asking anyone to rescue me from poverty. I’m asking for help finishing what we started together.
We showed what mutual aid can do when people come together. We got me back on the road and helped cover an insurance deductible. Now there’s one more debt to tackle.
Let’s finish this.
Donate through the fundraiser link in my bio. If you can’t give, please share this post to your stories and send it to a few people who believe in mutual aid.
And to everyone who’s already helped: you gave me room to breathe when I desperately needed it. I’ll never take that for granted. ❤️

Hello all, recently just purchased our first home in the Mission Hills area and getting used to all the fun expenses that come with owning. We are only a few months in and what’s tripping me up the most is the water bill. We pay almost $150 every month before any use of water, no matter what. Then it’s a few dollars per unit when you do use water.
The bill shows it’s $52 to get water to the house, and $95 for the sewer and a couple bucks for street sweeping. Is this normal??? It doesn’t seem right to me, but wondering what everyone else’s thoughts are..

I'm looking to hear from anyone who has had an experience with Good Samaritan Shelter.
Whether you worked there, stayed there, or reached out to them for help, I want to hear your story. Especially if you were treated unfairly or discriminated against, turned away or denied help, saw other people being mistreated, or were punished or pushed out for speaking up.
I am already aware there is fraud going on there and that it is being investigated, so please do not be afraid to come forward. Please message me privately. You do not have to post anything publicly, and whatever you share with me will stay confidential.
Even if you think your experience was small, it still matters. And please share this post so it can reach people who may not see it otherwise.
Thank you.

I got a Toyota Prius and looking to get a ceramic tint for all windows. Tired of people being able to look straight into my car. Wonder what/who yall would recommend, I’ve seen some signs around town but haven’t inquired too much yet looking for yalls input. Also would yall know of any places that do military discount as well?

I watched Gary Jeffrey’s interview with Jeremy Ball.
And… no.
There’s a lot here that deserves a closer look, so I’m breaking my reaction into three parts.
This is Part 1.
Bring the coffee. Bring the receipts. And maybe buckle up buttercups.

The draft agenda had been posted for the city council meeting scheduled to take place October 6th, 2026 at 6pm.
The draft agenda includes a section that reads as follows:
"Presentations from the Lompoc Police Department regarding:
An Update on Valley Policing
The use of a drone as a first responder
The use of automated license plate reader cameras"
As mentioned in one of the previous city council meetings, they intend to take public comment and have a staff presentation by the police department regarding Flock Safety, the "drone as first responder program" and Automated License Place Reader (ALPR) Cameras.
I wanted to take a moment to encourage everyone to attend and participate during public comment.
My advice for anyone intending to participate in public comment:
• Write and print your statement.
• Practice at home with a timer running.
• Ensure it respects the 3 minute time limit. Anything you say after the 3 minute mark will likely be muted on the recording of the meeting. I reccomend practicing your comment to conclude by 2 minutes 30 seconds, to allow time for pauses that might happen due to anxiety.
Things I Reccomend to Avoid:
• Overly emotional language
• Shouting
• Belittling or scolding
Why? Because these things tend to make people shut down and tune out. Think about how you would feel if you were doing something you believed would benefit your community, how would your planned statement make you feel if you were the opposing party?
Effective communication requires both parties to listen to each other with the intention of understanding each other. Don't make your statement work against you.
I've seen many city council meetings online where citizens are making totally valid arguments but when you watch the council members, they are checked out, reading something, or otherwise totally disengaged. I share the frustration around the discreet implementation of mass surveillance and all the security issues and legal issues resulting from Flock's technology. However, it is vital that we maintain the shared goals of effective communication, respect, and civility.

Moving to Vandenberg because of work. What do the locals viewpoint on river terrace homes? Is it near the ghetto? Is it too far from everything? Is it worth it? Can locals afford it?

It was off North G street and E college. I feel like it was shaped like an octagon maybe.

Anyone else notice the power going off and then turning back on a few minutes later at least twice around 4:50am and 5:10am?
