I feel like with the multiplication of that kind of projects we need some new kind of global local co-op listing hub.

Yes! We need to keep track. My wife has recently become very interested in games, but these days there aren't many couch co-op games. I feel like I've downloaded practically all the ones that interest us.

I've found this site that lists a lot of mods like these, single-player games that have a mod for playing multiplayer, and it seems to be up to date: https://megalist.neocities.org/mpm

My favorite genre of games is turn based tactical RPGs. And since playing Divinity: Original Sin, my SO and I have been looking for others in the genre, and sure Larian keeps delivering and there are other small indie titles like For the King or Battle for Wesnoth but since reaching this thread I have been daydreaming about Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem games featuring a co-op mode. I hope somebody makes it happen soon, it shouldn't be that hard am I right?

I really wish someone would add 4 player split screen to Left 4 Dead 2 on PC (yes I'm aware of Nucleus. In my experience it's always been a buggy mess).

Same, I can't be bothered to deal with nucleus

it works very well if player goes too far away split screen activates if he's near it's like reanimal

The wife didn't love reanimal but I was just pleased it had 2 player. Modding is brilliant adding what should have been included at the beginning to be fair from the game.

The hub idea makes sense, but I think the useful part of a list like that is the tags more than the links. Split-screen mods vary a lot in how many controllers they handle, whether each player gets a full screen or a shared view, and whether the game's online mode has to be turned off. A quick "what works, what breaks" note per game would save people a lot of trial and error. Do you know if any of the Resident Evil or Little Nightmares ones handle controller assignment well, or is that still hit or miss?

Oh, resident evil 2 remake and end of the abyss.. two games in my backlog!

Are they both stable?

I've been testing the end of abyss one and it's almost there in terms of quality. I think it's personal whether for example, you don't care if player 2 has an inventory system or not. I don't mind it too much, co-op is really fun anyway 🔥 I'm not the creator but I'm actually tinkering around with the mod now to try to fix some issues we had with it.

cool! tried RE2 on splitscreen and it worked well, and the framerate was stable locked at 140 (but without RT). and the control feels much much better than RE6 (obviously)..

end of abyss, wouldve played it singleplayer either way, so with coop, even with shared inventory, makes it 150 times more fun :D

re2 remake is actually really good 2p can do soo much it's kinda like re6 and re5 coop
