I thought Nvidia drivers were terrible on Windows as well nowadays

yeah, I've been hearing about a lot of issues with Nvidia + windows recently. I can't think of any off the top of my head as I've been busy with Uni stuff but I remember hearing some stuff was going on. I've been on linux for a while now and I can't really think of the last time I actually had an issue caused by Nvidia drivers or my card

Most of the Nvidia issues I came across on Linux were due to the fact that the drivers aren't open source so it's hard for application developers to get their stuff working properly with Nvidia cards. No such issues with AMD and Mesa drivers, which is why I switched to a 9070 XT in my main PC

Yeah, I swapped my 3060ti for my 6700xt and all the hassle immediately went away.

Well, yes and no. Nouveau is open-source but limited in capabilities while Nvidia closed-source blobs are feature-complete.

I should have specified, I was using the Nvidia proprietary drivers
