Let’s say your account has been "blocked" (meaning it has been completely removed from public view).
You try to reach out using links like:
https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/ask/ppq
You enter the email address associated with your account into the form, but every time you hit submit, you get an error—regardless of the browser, the mode (usual or private), or the IP address you’re using.
After some digging online, you might discover the reason for the error: the email address linked to your account has also been blocked.
So, you’re forced to provide a different email address in the form. And what do you get in response?
"Since you are contacting us from an email address not associated with the account, for privacy and security reasons, I cannot share information about the account or take any action on it without direct contact from the account owner via the email address linked to the account."
"Please contact us (or have the account owner contact us) directly from the email address registered to the account."
This is a total mockery. The system has blocked you from being able to write to them using the email address registered to your account.
Yet, if you write from a different address, the ticket is immediately closed because it didn't come from the "correct" one—followed by the insulting advice to do that is impossible to do.
There is no excuse for this bullshit.
However, if you keep trying, they might eventually send a reply to the email address actually linked to your account (rather than the one you entered in the form).
Usually, you’ll receive one of two templates:
1 – "To ensure the security of your account, we need to verify your identity." "Please provide a scanned copy of an official government-issued identity document." 2 – Due to the number and/or (yes, specifically "and/or") severity of the violations, your account will remain blocked. You try to ask logical questions:
What specific violations did the account commit? What is the exact wording of the charge?
If the account is blocked due to violations, why are you demanding documents? Documents neither refute nor resolve the fact that violations—if they occurred—took place.
The account is linked solely to an email address; proof of ownership of that email is both necessary and sufficient to verify one's "identity."
Documents prove nothing, as they are not linked to the account.
And what do you get in response to asking for the "exact wording of the charge"? A repetition of:
"Due to the number and/or severity of the violations, your account will remain blocked," followed by "read the rules."
The other side engages in no actual dialogue; they simply churn out canned responses.
In other words, they declare you guilty while concealing the specific charge.
Occasionally (very rarely), they might reply—again, using a template—claiming they cannot disclose their algorithms (?!?).
No one asked about their algorithms. The question was about the exact wording of the charge. These are two completely different things.
It is a crude, mindless manipulation—they take you for an idiot who might just swallow it.
"To ensure the security of your account"—what "security"?! For whom? From whom? I never asked for any "security."
It is all lies and manipulation. One might also point out the thoroughly deceitful and hypocritical tone of everything they write. Phrases like "Thank you for reaching out," "Sincerely," and so on—this isn't politeness; it’s hypocrisy and mockery, especially when contrasted with the actual substance of what they’re saying.
----------------
When you’ve written to them many times, you already know perfectly well what they’re going to say. So, right there in your message, you explicitly tell them: don’t say me that "you’re writing from a different email address"—and you explain why. And what do they write back? "You’ve contacted us from a different email address..." It’s the ultimate form of both sheer stupidity and mockery.
