Question What novel(s) have you read this week, and what do you think about it? - October 11, 2026
What novel(s) have you read this week, and what do you think about it?
This week = the one that ends/ended right now, past 7 days.
The reason for this thread's existence is the fact that both requests and suggestions became kind of stale. It's supposed to bring out more novels that are not RT!'d or recommended. Also, it's quite useful for the discussion of not so current titles.
Also, not a rule or any kind of criticism, the more interesting part is not the list of the stuff you read, but your impressions of it.
Loli Mod will be posting this thread each week.
Lastly, don't forget to use spoiler tags and to make sure to report any untagged spoilers.
How to use spoiler-tags:
Typing:
>!Spoilers go here!<
Will show up as:
Spoilers go here
Do note that any space at the beginning/end of the tag will break the spoiler tag.

Question Saint? No I'm just a passing beast tamer! - Rereading this and I wanted to do some random fan animations for my favorite lines - They Didn't Even Have the Good Grace to be Fluffy
I read the first volume of Saint? No I'm just a passing beast tamer! a few years ago, and I knew they'd had a few volumes out since then, so I'm re-reading the first one and giggling at a bunch of lines and texting them to my friends.
I thought it'd be fun to do some random fan animations for these so I've been doing one every day or so for my friend group.
Are fan animations cool to share on this sub-reddit? I'm not seeing anything against it explicitly in the rules, but I know different sub-reddits have different feelings on them. So I figured I'd post a few and see the temperature of the room.
I won't spam them if they're not welcome, but if they are I'd like a place to share.

4 months of collecting light novels, and my bookshelf is already almost full
About 4 months ago, I started collecting physical light novels seriously. At first, I just wanted to fill my bookshelf with series I liked. I thought I'd buy a few volumes here and there, but things got a little out of hand lol. I started hunting for second-hand books on local marketplaces, comparing prices between stores, and looking for good deals. Sometimes I found volumes for 40–50k VND ( ~ 1-2$), occasionally even cheaper. Eventually, I started buying entire sets instead of individual volumes. Oregairu, Bunny Girl Senpai, Alya, Angel Next Door, Otome game, InoBato, Shimotsuki, and a bunch of single novels or Makoto Shinkai novels are now part of my collection.
One of the biggest turning points was a book fair where I bought quite a lot of books. The problem? I still had plenty of unread books at home. After that, I had more than a dozen sealed books waiting to be opened, plus several more on the way. I also spent over 6 million VND (~ 300$ ) on books in roughly three months. Seeing that number made me realize how quickly things had escalated. I wasn't just buying books I wanted to read anymore. Sometimes, I bought them because the price was good or because I was afraid I wouldn't find them again. After finding books for 10–50k( ~ 1-2$), paying 90–100k (~ 3-4$) for one volume suddenly felt expensive, even when that was a normal price.
At least, finishing Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu vol. 12.5 reminded me why I started collecting in the first place. I'd been reading that series for a long time, so finally finishing it felt pretty special.I even had a proper bookshelf made and started worrying about humidity, dust, and how to keep the books in good condition for decades. Meanwhile, my reading speed definitely couldn't keep up with my buying speed.
Recently, I've been trying to slow down. I cancelled an order for two novels because I realized I was buying them mostly out of FOMO. There are still books I want, and finding second-hand copies with their original bookmarks is surprisingly difficult, but I'm trying to prioritize the books I already own instead of constantly looking for the next deal.
I still love collecting. I just don't want to reach the point where buying books becomes more enjoyable than actually reading them.
For those of you who collect physical light novels, did you also go through a phase where you bought way more than you could read? How did you manage to slow down without losing the fun of collecting?

Question Help finding this novel. This is basically all i remember i think....
The light novel cover contains a female worker that's bending down a bit. She's wearing a blue coat, has blonde hair, and behind her is her co-worker who's standing there. He looks confident and maybe smirking. He's wearing potentially black, not all black, like a normal suit. He has black hair, and they're in like a company. The title has something to do with either workplace acquaintances, make money, friends at the workplace, how to dominate the workplace, how to dominate the company, something along the line. And it should be recent, basically in the last five years. Like, I don't think it's before 2020.

Question Should I Get Into Toaru?
I am pretty new to light novels with only having read volumes 13 - 18 of Mushoku Tensei. I am wondering if Toaru would be worth getting into cause I heard it’s pretty long.

recommendations pls x
I’m not much of a light novel reader or haven’t read in a very long time so if anyone has some recs of your FAV and addicting and BEST rated LNs I would appreciate!
Any genre is fine but for context I have read and loved classroom of the elite and the 86 LNs in the past. I do tend to like romance a lot, angst and dark themes, found family/multi- cast of characters but open to any recs

Searching for a Light Novel
Hello, I am looking for this light novel that Iread maybe a year ago where it has this elements:
Title: Forgotten
ML named Lucien (or maybe not) who builds greenhouses in the desert (No "Gardener" or "Greenhouse" in title) Looking for a translated web novel I read last year (was under 100 chapters at the time):
- ML: Lucien. Started as an orphan in a street gang.
- Desert Arc: Go to the desert for business, adopted a dog that died due to lack of supplies.
- Skills: Built greenhouses and irrigation in the desert (non-magical). Around Ch 80-90, he returns to the capital to construct specialized greenhouses for nobility.
- FL: High noble who meets him secretly behind a garden. Her twin brother willingly helps her sneak out by impersonating/covering for her.
- Title Note: The title does NOT have "Gardener" or "Greenhouse" in it.
Does anyone know the this light novel? I kinda forgot to bookmark it. Thank you for the help

Question Thoughts on "Have A Cup of Coffee After School" by Kazamidori?
It's a SoL, Cooking, Romance and Isekai. Strangely the combination works so well throughout its 6 volumes. It doesn't seem too popular unfortunately.
I'll give it a score around 8/10 or 9/10, not perfect but a fun read nontheless.
NOT A HAREM

I want to communicate with fantasy light novel fans from abroad.
I have been into fantasy light novels for two years. I love fantasy novels and anime that feature swords, magic, and monsters. But I don't really like ones that mix in modern technology and life. My favorites are Konosuba, Re:ZERO, Mushoku Tensei, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Ascendance of a Bookworm, and lots of others.
I am subscribed to Kindle Unlimited, so I can read a lot of them. But the first few volumes are free, and the rest cost money. When I can find an interesting one on Kindle, I buy the rest. How about Kindle Unlimited service in your country?
I read one light novel a day. And I am learning English. I want to talk about light novels in English. I might be able to help you learn Japanese. Please be my friend.
Thanks for reading. Sorry for my poor English.
