Just curious about this title, is there any fight against advanturer's that try to come inside his dungeon? Is this like overlord and slime tensei where they kill a lot of humans or not?

Thanks.

復刊の記事を見た。やはり、読みたいのは表題より、短編集に含まれる「丘に、町が」だろう。別の次元の価値観というか、こいつはやばいという感じ。

Question Should I Get Into Toaru?

I am pretty new to light novels with only having read volumes 13 - 18 of Mushoku Tensei. I am wondering if Toaru would be worth getting into cause I heard it’s pretty long.

4 months of collecting light novels, and my bookshelf is already almost full

About 4 months ago, I started collecting physical light novels seriously. At first, I just wanted to fill my bookshelf with series I liked. I thought I'd buy a few volumes here and there, but things got a little out of hand lol. I started hunting for second-hand books on local marketplaces, comparing prices between stores, and looking for good deals. Sometimes I found volumes for 40–50k VND ( ~ 1-2$), occasionally even cheaper. Eventually, I started buying entire sets instead of individual volumes. Oregairu, Bunny Girl Senpai, Alya, Angel Next Door, Otome game, InoBato, Shimotsuki, and a bunch of single novels or Makoto Shinkai novels are now part of my collection.

One of the biggest turning points was a book fair where I bought quite a lot of books. The problem? I still had plenty of unread books at home. After that, I had more than a dozen sealed books waiting to be opened, plus several more on the way. I also spent over 6 million VND (~ 300$ ) on books in roughly three months. Seeing that number made me realize how quickly things had escalated. I wasn't just buying books I wanted to read anymore. Sometimes, I bought them because the price was good or because I was afraid I wouldn't find them again. After finding books for 10–50k( ~ 1-2$), paying 90–100k (~ 3-4$) for one volume suddenly felt expensive, even when that was a normal price.

At least, finishing Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu vol. 12.5 reminded me why I started collecting in the first place. I'd been reading that series for a long time, so finally finishing it felt pretty special.I even had a proper bookshelf made and started worrying about humidity, dust, and how to keep the books in good condition for decades. Meanwhile, my reading speed definitely couldn't keep up with my buying speed.

Recently, I've been trying to slow down. I cancelled an order for two novels because I realized I was buying them mostly out of FOMO. There are still books I want, and finding second-hand copies with their original bookmarks is surprisingly difficult, but I'm trying to prioritize the books I already own instead of constantly looking for the next deal.

I still love collecting. I just don't want to reach the point where buying books becomes more enjoyable than actually reading them.

For those of you who collect physical light novels, did you also go through a phase where you bought way more than you could read? How did you manage to slow down without losing the fun of collecting?
