After some mod discussion…
Posts about IWI guns, or accessories from Israeli manufacturers (or sometimes even posts about completely-unrelated topics!) quickly become a discussion of Israel/Palestine politics. There are plenty of more appropriate places to have those discussions on Al Gore's internet. Comments stronger than "I'll never buy IWI" will be removed, and users will potentially be banned after repeated offenses. Stick to talking about the guns.
This will be folded into the "topicality" rule in the near future, but this sticky post serves in the stead of that change.

Sorry if this site is no good since it has some NRA affiliations, but it's the only somewhat legit source for this news from Ruger. If this is not a good source, feel free to remove it.
Having said that, what are everyone's thoughts? I own many Ruger firearms, includes multiple LCRs, a GP100 and an LC Charger.
I don't keep up much with Ruger's financial side, so I can't speak for what is or isn't selling or ownership changes. I can only hope that these discontinuations are minor and mostly just them preparing for updated models for most of this line up down the road.

So the thing was cheap and I was curious. Watched a bunch of videos of influencers shooting it and they all enjoyed it.
Tokarev 12ga TBP semi-automatic shotgun, $199 at PSA online. Took it home and cleaned out the packing grease, lightly oiled it, and took it to the range.
It's a beast and fairly accurate with slugs, surprisingly comfortable to shoot. Super fun.

This is for the folks who, like me, live in states where there is no state-level requirement for suppressor registration.
I’m certainly not telling anyone what to do, but I get another can soon, I might submit a Form 4 for it with the $0 tax unless the NFA is repealed completely - and I won’t hold my breath on that.
I know the point about flooding the country with suppressors to make the common use argument, but consider this worst-case scenario:
You buy a can or two on a 4473. Sometime in the not too distant future, the NFA tax not only returns, but increases to $4,709. Shortly thereafter, the head of the ATF announces they’re going to resume enforcement of the NFA tax registration. They don’t outlaw anything and they give you a grace period to come into compliance, but you have to pay $4,709 for each NFA item instead of $0.
You never put a stock on your braced AR so you’re good there, but that can you bought is listed on the same 4473 that has your name and address, and the ATF starts combing through records after the grace period expires to check for compliance…
Call me paranoid, but unless the NFA is repealed, this non-enforcement of NFA taxes seems too good to be true.

upgraded from the shield plus to the shield x carry comp. weirdly 3 years ago the shield plus felt better in the hand to me but then i got a bodyguard 2.0 carry comp & practiced with it so much that now the thinner grip feels better to me. plus the thinner the better when it’s in your waistband.
added a TLR 7X Sub light. it’ll get an optic eventually but the irons are great
put 350 rounds through it yesterday after picking it up, which is my standard break in for handguns. (250 winchester white box 124gr fmj & 100 sig v crown 124gr jhp) gun ran great & is smooth as butter now. overall, loving the shield x so far. kind of feels like the ultimate carry gun.
also the rfc records labor day sale was great

So, basically, I like the DSA on 90% of their stances, but their ideas specifically about the 2A, and well, their whole idea about how the Bill of Rights needs to be rewritten and simplistic ideas on "Capitalism Bad" are really making me not want to actually vote for them.
How can I get the DSA to change their opinion on the 2A?

Took a gamble on the $299 Tisas 1911 from PSA over the weekend. I'm not really a 45 guy, so justifying money for a 1911 was kind of no go, but I have a soft spot for the Government Issue models after growing up on WW2 games and movies. This thing sits in a price range where I could get one purely for a range toy (and scratching the Fudd Itch) and if it goes bang like, 85% of the time it'll probably be worth it.
I'm wary of Turkish guns on principle. The internet loves them, and I see a lot of "just as güd" but in reality they seem real hit or miss. That said, this particular model from Tisas seems to have NOTHING but glowing reviews, and apparently the CMP selected them to manufacture their repro models, so thats a very good sign. Also I think Kaya from Classic Firearms/TFBtv is the CEO now?
Anyway, I'm cautiously optimistic. It's pleasantly hefty, and there's no rattle or anything that feels loose. The trigger is nice with a super solid wall and positive break, should be a sweet shooter. Only negative is maybe the cerakote. Its a little weirdly matte, and makes a lot of the parts and slide feel very stiff, but that should wear in with use.
If it proves reliable enough, I may even have to build a WW2 gun belt for meme-y pistol matches.

Sportsman's Warehouse has this Mav 88 field and security combo on sale right now if you've been waiting to pull the trigger... https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/shotguns/mossberg-maverick-88-field-security-combo-12-gauge-3in-blued-pump-shotgun-185in28in/p/1506620

So at that point where I am looking to get my first suppressor now that I don't have to jump through additional hoops. Have a 8in .300 BO build. Looking for something that is not going to break the bank but also decent suppressions with subs. Not planning on running an FRT as I don't have that kind of ammo budget lol.

I just got this for my Bodyguard 2.0. I read online that removing the rear dovetail site can be a real pain without a proper site pusher. I’m going to buy one on Amazon, but I don’t want to spend a crazy amount.
Any tips from people that have installed this? Is this doable or should I just take it to my gunsmith?

I'm in the KC area, and I'm looking for any more left leaning gun stores/smiths I can support. The shop I'm currently a member at is at least openly neutral and has a pretty nice range to use, but it would be nice to find one that's actively more left leaning or at least a club to meet other hunters who don't worship at the altar of Trump. Tall order for being in Missouri, but I thought I would ask.

CVA Cascade .308
Rifle was punching horrible groups and very inconsistent. After a little while, I found 1 action screw very loose. Took everything apart and did a super thorough cleaning including scope, rings, base. Currently I’m getting 5” groups at 50 yards. Everything feels solid, torqued to specs. Is it possible the damage has been done to the action or stock? I’m looking into getting pillar sleeves. How do I find the correct size?

Thought I would contribute to the pile here. Its a monster and the flagship of my collection. Consistent 1/2 MOA at 600+ yards from prone/bench. PRS build
Build Details Edit:

Fellow Fat El Duderinos,
What are you carrying? What holster and is it comfortable?
Currently looking to start carrying again, and I don’t know where to start. I previously carried a pocket holstered first gen Hellcat and hated the trigger. I also carried a G19 with a Fat Guy holster and love the firearm and placement, but it’s just too big.
Suggestion on a single stack and accompanying holster I should look at? A friend is going to let me borrow a G43 and G43x, but I’d like to add to things I should shoot. A macro 365 has come up in conversation, but I don’t want to blow my dick off. Maybe I’m thinking of the 320, who knows.
Open to suggestions, not tied to a brand. Looking for some that disappears under my muffin top.
Thanks gang.

I scanned the Titans spec sheet and instruction manual and made a video about the differences between the Titan and Trinity. Not terribly different, but different in the right places.

There's a lot of us in states where we no longer have to do any paperwork or registration for sbr's; thats dope yeah...but for some situations, legally speaking, it might be better to leave a brace on your pcc to stay in compliance with your state/local municipality regarding what type of weapon you can transport loaded in a vehicle etc..a lot of places see using a rifle as using an offensive weapon & not a defensive tool & can fuck you in court...i know some people like their ar-platform "truck guns" or whatever but fully consider the optics & implications your weapon configuration choices have should you have to use it in a defense scenario/ go to court/ get pulled over. "Pistol" mode with a brace might be the smarter option. That is all.

The first pistol I’ve owned that gives me the mythical “extension of the hand” feel I always hear about. Started picking up the pace with it on my second trip, still a lot to work on but happy with the results. 150ish rounds at 10 yards.
