Question 75192 Millenium Falcon was “Sold Out”, now “Temporarily Out of Stock”
I’ve wanted this set more than anything since it was release 10 years ago, and I’m aware this set is retiring at end of year. It just sold out yesterday, as retiring sets typically do.
I found it odd that the language switched here from Sold Out to OOS. Does this mean its going to restock?
Basically, I’m trying to decide if I should order right now from Amazon while it’s still available, wait until Lego restocks, or wait until the rumored October 20207 Millenium Falcon release.

They make a new UCS falcon every 10 years. Count on a new one next year.

New most expensive set at $1,200 USD

Originally I heard the rumor was $1000 but more and more likely I believe it will be $1100 or $1200 just given the increasing cost of LEGO over time

Yup the rumour is we will see a new one next year.
Though it will be interesting to see what has changed in the last 10 years.

Happened with the DnD set.
It was sold out but the site listed as Temp OOS.
Its most likely the same scenario but don’t give up cope

This is why I picked the DnD set up. I wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted it. However I did know if I changed my mind later and definitely wanted it then I’d be paying a premium for it.
This falcon has been around a long time and there’s going to be plenty available on the 2nd hand market once it does finally vanish from shelves.

In the same boat as you, been wanting it for 10 years and have made it my yearly goal to buy this before it retires. Saw it getting snatched up during double points so I panic bought it at my local store. Someone else bought the only other one at the store and they said they had 3 "offsite." If I were in your position I would get it on Amazon since that was my plan if the local store didn't have them.

Get it from Amazon while you can.
My partner was in the same boat as you. He looks at the set every time we’re in the store but hated the price tag. I convinced him to get it in the summer so he didn’t miss out. He thoroughly enjoyed building it and it’s going to be displayed in our dining room.
If this is your one set that you’ve wanted for 10 years and you can afford the price, don’t wait. The fact it’s gone out of stock should be your warning sign that you will miss out if you wait too long.

The set sold out on LEGO.com within 5 mins of 2x points on tuesday. I had it in the cart, tried checking out and the site didn’t let me thru. Went to my local LEGO store yesterday morning and they were sold out.
I ended up buying it on Amazon since it’s still available at retail. Will keep it in the box for now. Not gonna risk it and then having to buy in the secondary market at $1000+

It will not sell for $1000. The falcon has been out for so long that so many copies exist in the wild.

You gotta think about the returns from people who just couldnt afford it. Theyre reprocessing them and putting them in stock as they get them back but they are not manufacturing anymore of them

Holy cow. I just ordered this over the weekend and it’s out for delivery today. Op I hope you can get your hands on one. I was afraid to order from Amazon because of the horror stories I’d seen on here.

There has already been a new UCS Falcon rumoured from several reliable sources so another production run of this one is unlikely. If you want it that bad get it from Amazon while you can. Their prices will likely increase as the remaining units become scarcer.

Has it been officially announced?
Edit: OP changed announced to rumored in their post.

Heavily rumoured with a series number already leaked. It stands to reason with the 50th Anniversary next year that the most iconic ship in the franchise would be represented with something new.

It's gonna clear $1000 easy
It'll have several 50th anniversary minigfigs and pieces that will only be obtainable through the ucs falcon

Yep and I guarantee it won't have a 10 year production run. Resellers will make a fortune.

I snatched out a couple of months back from Amazon. It was prime days in the uk so already discounted but I also opened amazon business account so I got further £150 discount so the set cost me £396! Get from Amazon so you don’t miss out as the set is going to be discontinued this year from what I hear

I hope the next one is a little smaller imho

u/TBD_Red 17h ago
Doubt it. The point is to be roughly minifig scale.

u/IceBergster 16h ago
And it doesnt go along with any other UCS size ag all. Its bigger than a whole destroyer. I won't buy it of its even bigger next time. Ill buy it if its smaller

It's replacement will be more money for less. That how Lego works. I'd imagine the margins on this set are not what they were when it released. Any replacement will be £900 like the Death Star.

And someone was just “homering” me for ripping on lego ethics the other day. So many pple pay little attention to all the grimey stuff lego does now.

Why did you wait so many years? If you want something you need to do it ;-)

I will not FOMO.
I didnt want it a year ago, I didn’t want it 5 years ago.
I don’t care it’s OOS.
This mantra I will repeat until the FOMO goes away.
It’s a consumerist mindset trap, the next one will be just as good.

Is it anyone other than resellers and people brand new to LEGO buying at this point? This set has been out for almost 10 years, can’t imagine anyone who wanted it waited this long

I think some people wait around thinking something like that will get discounted lol. Likely some people who don't live in on the Internet may not even have known it was retiring.
