Newbie Question Question about ‘tentationem’ in the Pater Noster/Our Father

I am new to Latin, and am very confused by the form of the word ‘tentacionem’.

In the line “ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem”/“lead us not into tempation”, I’m not sure why ‘tentationem’ is the accusative form.

Shouldn’t it be in Dative form as:
You is the subject
Us is the direct object
Temptation as the indirect object?

Vocabulary & Etymology What were/are the base colors in Latin

Copy of the post I made in r/asklinguists since it was suggested this is a better place to ask

By base colors I mean colors that are not considered a shade of other colors, for example "lilac" is a color in English but it's considered a shade of purple while pink is not considered a shade of red (in other languages it is). I recently fell down the rabbit hole of color term hierarchy and I'm wondering where latin was.

Note: I am aware that Latin, like any other language, has evolved over time, so if you have any knowledge about how it changed over time that would be even better.

Resources Looking for Peckett book

• Upvotes

I’ve become mildly obsessed with the history of the Direct Method for teaching Latin. I recently learned that C. W. E. Peckett (you may recognize him as the author of Pseudolus Noster and Thrasymachus) also wrote a book Maturis for older learners.

Do you have a scan or a copy you’d be willing to scan or sell of this book? I’d really appreciate it. No particular purpose to my study, just a fascination with this period of Latin pedagogy.
