Hiking ?? .. Biking trails ... ? .. Nope. LP is not San Diego. Rent a scooter and explore the LP area. Cross the Mekong and ride all day in those hills. ... Yes, you can walk the 168 steps up the hill by the night market, and the 500 steps at the waterfalls. For real hiking, go to Nong Khiaw or Vang Vieng.

True. Laos is an ideal country for hikers but you really got to know the area and make friends with the locals. I sometimes watch Dong Una - ພໍ່ບ້ານດ໋ອງ he does hiking, hunting and camping content in Laos. It's hard to find good hiking content in Laos from foreigners but maybe from the Travels on Toast channel.

You can hike alone, just do it in designating areas depending which one you wanna do, but you have to find a transportation, there's minivans to this areas or renting a bicycle or a motorcycle

We're normally DIY hikers but we got a guide for a hike in Laos and they pointed out sights and sounds and wonders that we would've otherwise missed. Not LP so I don't have guide suggestions but that's my .02 on a guide in a fascinating environment
