Noire Multiplayer testing is going really well

Post image

Hey everyone!

A little update on Noire MP since my last post.

We've continued over the past few weeks, and things have been going really well. We now have a small group of testers helping us put the multiplayer client through its paces, finding issues and making sure everything works as expected.

A lot of work gone into getting the foundations right, from player and vehicle synchronization to custom character creation, clothing support and the server-side framework.

There's still plenty to do, but seeing everything come together and having people actually test it with me has ben incredibly encouraging.

The goal is still to build something that lets people host their own servers and eventually create their own experiences in L.A Noire, whatever that's freeroam, rp or entirely different gamemodes.

Thanks to everyone who showed interest in the original post. It genuinely helped keep the momentum going.

More updates soon!

This sounds like great news for a SF Noire. Hopefully we can get multiple new games in this franchise.

Continuing the out-of-order non-landmark entries: post #479 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.

Civic Center Hill Street Lot

134–136 South Hill Street

Operated under the Walt’s Auto Parks franchise network, this compact asphalt-paved surface lot optimized limited street frontage. Bounded by standard barriers, the facility features an open view of a subterranean concrete transit ramp cutting along its southern boundary line.

Tossing in another out-of-order non-landmark entry with post #475 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.

Central Jail

318 West 1st Street

Finished in 1896 as the rear wing of the police headquarters, this multi-tiered brick cellblock facility was linked via an upper passage known as the “Bridge of Sighs.” Vacated in 1946 due to chronic overcrowding, the rusticated structure remained a booking station before mid-century modernizations.

Going back (I swear, we’ll eventually get back to our regular alphabetical order) for post #472 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.

The 623 Building (Palm Tree Café)

Originally the 1916 home of the Victor Hugo Restaurant (and later Pirrone’s nightclub upstairs), this structure (depicted with Palm Tree Café signage in game) operated as a multi-tenant hub by 1947. Along with a street-level sandwich shop, it housed wholesale jewelry merchants and watch repairers.
