Hi, I'm a 21M college student from the United States. I'm on here looking for a Japanese language exchange partner, because my major is International Studies and one of the course requirements is the completion of a full language course. I've taken Japanese courses in the past, so I'm familiar with hiragana, katakana, and some kanji as well as basic grammar concepts.

I'm not just taking the Japanese course as "just another course requirement". Learning languages is something I really enjoy, learning about different countries and cultures is actually something I'm very passionate about. I have a whole book collection on various cultures ranging from literature in Portuguese colonial Brazil to the northern provinces of Korea prior to 1945. Other things like worldbuilding, romcom movies, and baking are also fun, to me.

For a language partner, I would prefer someone who is around my age and is communicative. Life happens and we all live in different time zones, so it's totally understandable if we aren't always able to study together when we have a routine or schedule. But being open about how much time you can commit and what's within your scope of knowledge is important.
