I take home about 4-5k a month and my partner makes some from disability. We're looking to move and just shocked at rent prices and redoing our budget. Looking at a Waverly flatz/ coopers landing townhome looks like I can expect to pay about 1,500 . We're leaning towards Waverly flatz though. We've been wanting a house but saving has been hard. I'm paying 1,300 for a 1 bedroom now.

Hey there! Found three stray cats today, housing them in my garage for now. Are there any vets that provide affordable exams for stray cats?

I have one cat and will call my vet in the morning but I’m not sure how much exams for all three will cost there.

Hey everyone!

I'm a working professional in my mid-20s, currently living in Kalamazoo and working as an engineer in the area. My lease ends in late December, and I'm exploring the possibility of moving into a 2-bedroom apartment with a roommate instead of renewing my current 1-bedroom lease.

I'm open to either finding someone to search for an apartment together or joining someone who already has a place, provided it's a good fit.

A little about what I'm looking for:

Ideally a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, with our own bedrooms and bathrooms.

Kalamazoo or nearby areas, with a reasonable commute toward Otsego.

Parking and a clean, comfortable living environment.

Someone responsible, reasonably tidy, and respectful of shared spaces. I'd prefer a non-smoking, drug-free household rather than a party house.

One thing worth mentioning is that I already have quite a bit of furniture from my current apartment, including a large sectional, TV setup, coffee table, rug, and shelving. So ideally I'd like to find an unfurnished or partially furnished place where we could use most of it. That also means a potential roommate wouldn't need to furnish much of the living room.

I'm generally pretty laid-back, enjoy having my own space, but am also happy to socialize. I'm looking for someone with a similar balance.

I'm still exploring options and haven't committed to a specific apartment yet. If you're in a similar situation, have a room that might work, or know of any good options, feel free to comment or DM me!

Of the 13 in-patient psychiatric hospitals, three underwent complaint investigations: one facility had two; another had one with publicly accessible records dating back to 2022.

Anyone else been having issues with Arboretum since new management took over?
My mother (57) has been living there for 3 years now. Every year in August she’s had to go to the office to resign a new lease, that lease has always expired exactly a year later. This year she had called the office to notify them she’d be out of the state on vacation from July 15-September 3rd, she was inquiring with them on how to sign the new lease, they told her since they’re under new management, the lease signing would have to take place once she returned. She returned and every time she went into the office to inquire about getting the new lease and signing it, she was told there was no one there to help her. However Loren who I’m assuming is the big boss has been harassing my mother over new lease terms..and my mother still doesn’t have a lease nor has she signed one. When bringing this to Loren’s attention, she got very rude with my mother, emailed her a copy of this new lease which you can’t read at all, and then taped one to her door. Only issue is this: the “new lease” taped to her door had her signature but was signed 10/08/25, it has the old management company listed but then the rest of the lease behind that first page is the updated one under new management. When we explained this was not valid because again, regardless it’s a year to year lease so that is still invalid, she told my mother if she was too old to read it properly, she could come to the office and have someone read it for her. I’ve now taken things into my hands with this and am honestly ready to throw these hands.
If anyone has advice, or stories of what you’ve experienced thus far, I’d love to know.

I’m new to this area and I’m looking to hear testimonials (good/bad) on Beacon’s birth center.

It’s hard to find anything outside of a few reviews on FB and most people seem to deliver at Bronson.

I’m interested in a low-intervention birth. After speaking with their nurses I’ve learned they have portable fetal monitoring for more movement during labor as well as whirlpool tubs. Also, the fact that they have 4 midwives vs 15+ is also appealing because you’ll have a chance to meet them all so you’ll know who’s at your birth (1 of the 4 will be on call).

The reasons I hear more people go to Bronson over Beacon is because Beacon only sees low-risk patients, they only have NICU II, and are a lot smaller. I also heard about a security leak a few years prior that might’ve contributed to less patients (not sure the degree of this).

⚠️ I’m not looking for any unrelated reviews about other divisions of their hospital, just the birthing center.

We own a small cape cod that needs the upstairs insulation fixed, which is a difficult job. Outside of Better World Builders (got a quote already), can anyone recommend an insulator who can handle the complexities of something like this? Also would love to hear anyone sharing their stories tackling a similar situation. Thanks!

I’m not one to be a big believer in the metaphysical, but I am seriously starting to wonder if my workplace is in an energetic funk. In the past year, we’ve had a lot coworkers get seriously injured, have severe health or family crises, and the vibes are just generally really bad amongst coworkers. It’s almost like a curse has been put upon our workplace!

Is there any service/person in the Kalamazoo area that will come out to places and do energy cleansings of spaces? I can buy sage but I’ll probably just feel silly and not do things right on my own. Thank you!
