How the songs were selected: The initial locked and survey lists were decided through host discussion, using a combination of r/kpop's artist TTT results, as well as streaming statistics and general relevance. We then held a pre-survey campaign on the discord server, where server members could suggest songs they'd like to see added to the survey. Following this, we conducted our usual song list feedback survey.

Rules:

• You must listen to and assign a score to EVERY song listed. If your ballot is missing any scores it will not be eligible and you'll be sent a message asking you to fill in the missing scores.
• Each song should be assigned a score between 1 to 10. Decimals up to one point are allowed but any further is a no-no – 6.9 is fine, but 6.99 is not. Don't use commas (i.e "8,8") to separate your decimals!
• You can use ONE 0 and ONE 11 for the entirety of the rate, for your least favorite and most favorite song respectively - they are optional but HIGHLY encouraged if you feel some type of way about any given song! Comments are also encouraged but not required for such scores (except if you give a song a 0). You can add them to any song by simply typing after the numerical score, like so:

About the boy groups and the girl groups

So I’ve noticed this year a lot of ARTMS fans calling out other fans for still referring to ARTMS as Loona or always bringing up the Loona name when discussing ARTMS.

Here’s my 2 Pennie’s on this.

Why are they surprised that ARTMS can’t ever escape that Loona branding?

- All members of ARTMS are from Loona

- They’re under a label created by the guy who created Loona, Jaden Jeong

- the name ARTMS (Artemis) is also a space reference, just like the Loona name

- early on with their debut, ARTMS referenced Loona in their work

- they even stuck to working with Loona producers and DIGIPEDI

So why are a section of ARTMS fans acting like this when ARTMS has done nothing to differentiate themselves from Loona or move on from Loona??

And let’s be honest with ourselves. 90% of ARTMS fans are/were Loona fans. The causal kpop fan doesn’t know or have ever heard of ARTMS.

And it doesn’t help that they make little to no effort on making ARTMS big in Korea.

Take their recent comeback, Born Stunner. The only promos they did for it in Korea were music show performances. That’s it. No variety show appearances, no Korean YouTube/online appearances. Nothing.

But they’ve done so much collaborations with US social media influencers who don’t know who they are and have never heard 1 ARTMS song. (Bike riding karaoke, guy kitchen chef, dancing weatherman, shanonstreet guy). How do they benefit working with these influencers??

By listened to I mean I listened to their entire discographies.

On the second pic I listed 10 songs that stood out to me the most, so that people can have a rough idea of what type of songs I enjoy.

A while back I made a tier list of 217 boy groups, where I blessed the lucky people of this subreddit with my immaculate music taste. That's when I also threatened to come back with girl groups.

Ever since I got to kpop I mostly sticked to boy groups, but I did listen to a bunch of girl groups as well. I was expecting that I wouldn't like a lot of songs, as girl groups don't really provide what I'm looking for in a song compared to boy groups, but I was still suprised by how many groups I disliked.

To me, a vast majority of these groups just sound exactly the same. Every single song they make. At some points it felt like listening to the same song on repeat.

Also, the tier list I used included a few soloist, so I listened to them as well. There were also groups like Katseye or XG, so I also decided to add Hana to the list as I've seen them being popular among kpoppers, which was a good choice cuz its SO PEAK

My biggest discovery has been H//pe Princess, like oh God that's exactly what I wanted to hear and I will watch their career with great interest. My girl groups bias is Niko from this group.
