My thoughts and discussions:
Finished watching the film in Melbourne, Australia and I personally loved it.
First half might be slow for some and I felt the minor slow pace too but I had some laugh so it's not a problem. The second half is where things get more heated and I loved that more than the first half.
The villains in this sequel are better than the first one (we can easily see Rajini struggle here). Don't expect Varman type of villains here as he gave a breath of fresh air, though the new villains are better as villains (so don't argue saying Varman is peak and this is slop and stuff).
Story wise, nothing much, the usual template as the first one BUT this movie is meant to be commercial and entertainment. So for me personally, I really had fun and enjoyed it. I felt every emotion in the film (again, personally).
The cameos finally did a little more than the last film (they're mostly off screen but I like their own impact here) but again, the cameos are for commercial reach and only for fan service.
As for music, I felt the two item songs are very UNNECESSARY as I'm not a fan of it in general for movies as that is just trying to satisfy a certain group which I never respect in my life.
As for the BGMs, Anirudh kinda lacked a little here and I think he ran out of ideas but I liked the villain BGMs. The hero's BGM is the same and that's fine. The new ones are nice too BUT it's not as good as I expected from Anirudh to be (Anirudh is falling back in terms of quality releases recently in movies).
Nelson really focused on the details in this movie as I can see how every move from the hero and villain is mapped out. Some things are dialed down but that's because it's a continuation of the first part and all the characters are introduced and known already.
Finally, literally don't expect a film to be a masterpiece in film art if it's taken for commercial and entertainment purposes. It's just a continuation movie between the hero and the new villains fighting back and forth with some tactics and strength as usual. My two friends didn't like it that much (they exaggerated saying only 15 minutes were good. Each to their own I guess. It's their opinions and might be yours too). I really loved it though.
Note: Everything I said are my own opinions and thoughts. Don't come at me personally if you have different opinions but you can share your thoughts and your opinions as this is a discussion thread.
Let me know what you guys think after you guys watch it or ask any non-spoiler questions.

Yeah there were a bit of rumours of the movie getting dropped - let’s just keep that as rumours.
Looks like Nelson knows the game and how to make it work by putting together the marketing, hype, music, star value, art/craft, story, etc., and deliver.
So there are good chances that the project will exceed the expectations - given that it’s a one of a kind movie.
Thoughts and opinions? 🍿🥤

One bad film and everyone started trolling him and forgot his elite filmography. Loki will comeback strong ✊

Lore:
Vettai Mannan was supposed to be Nelson's first film and production started during 2012. But Simbu na being Simbu na caused the film to drop due to multiple issues. It took Nelson another 6 years to have his debut(KoKo) and the rest is history.
Adhik is a bit different as he already had a successful debut Trisha Illana Nayanthara(BO wise). He signed his second film AAA with Simbu who created all sorts of problems like not coming to shoot, doing dubbing in his bathroom, forcefully made the film release with incomplete shoot saying this film has a potential to have a sequel. All in all the film became a disaster and Adhik's career was about to end, but he bounced back with Mark Anthony and GBU.

We’ve been waiting for a larger-than-life cinematic experience for so long, with multiple attempts to achieve that stature, only to be left disappointed. Some came incredibly close (Vikram, Karuppu) but couldn’t sustain that momentum afterwards.
Despite all the setbacks, people continued to believe in Thalaivar’s BO pull, and he proved he still had it. Yet, Vettaiyan and Coolie left us wanting more.
Just when people were beginning to lose that belief, Thalaivar & Nelson are back at it again with Jailer 2! 🔥
Jailer itself came with relatively minimal expectations, but this time, the staging feels much bigger, and we have far more reasons to be excited. The anticipation is on another level!
Hopefully, this film will open new gateways for massive commercial successes and remind everyone of the kind of larger-than-life cinema our industry is capable of delivering.
(And I’m really hoping Scene & OM score big too! 🤞🔥)
Thank you, Nelsaa! And love you, Thalaivaa! 😭❤️🔥
The child in me is genuinely so happy right now. ❤️

Anils are literally posting reviews older Superstar films and other bad film reviews as public review for jailer 2. I mean Thalapathy has left the industry why so much vanmam. I can understand them doing all this before the political entry (even then it's was stupid) but now it's just pathetic.

Now, I don't want either Dharman or KHxRK films to be hyped too much.
They should concentrate on delivering appropriate films and go for a hunt again. This is how Kollywood 2.0 should start getting back to their vintage cinema of the 1990s & 2000s.
There is nothing to worry about box office openings as Thalaivar still looks undisputed.
Delivering a good entertaining film, then hunting on a big box office gives far better satisfaction than claiming some box office numbers for films which offer huge disappointment.
I won't speak about pan india as it depends on scale and interest from filmmaker perspective accompanied by brilliant craft. Also, ambitious Pan India directors like Mani Ratnam and Shankar lost their touch with cinema. So, we've to wait some more years to reset our pan india roots. We can enjoy other set of films in meantime.
