Bike stolen in Oakwood

Post image
116 Upvotes

Hey Reddit, Mom said it was my turn to complain about thieves!

Anyway... Around midnight a guy tried to steal my bike off my porch, but it's locked to my garden shelf. I saw it on my ring camera when I went to the gym this morning but thought he'd given up.

Well, 30 minutes into my workout I get a notification that someone's on my porch again. The guy waited for my husband and I to leave and then came back to steal the whole garden shelf since he couldn't get the bike off!

Just a reminder your bike is only as safe as whatever you locked it to. An expensive mistake, but it is kind of scary that he came back. So just posting this in case anybody recognizes him, you can let KPD know.

There is a monetary reward for the return of my red electric Pedego bike!

Looking for just standard, run of the mill Tamales

I'm looking to buy tamales, either fresh from a market, or maybe in the frozen section at a grocer. Not looking for to go dinners from restaurants, or anything fancy. Just cheap, mass made tamales that I can bop in at and periodically buy a quantity of a few at a time.

Thanks!

What is the Restaraunt Going in near Mexico Lindo and Potchzche in Cedar Bluff?

I drove by it the other day, and it looks like a Nashville Hot Chicken restaurant ironically from out of state. When I got to my destination I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything. Interestingly Knoxville really is the last place to have real Nashville Hot Chicken. We had Prince's which is the OG, but even that seemed like they had to make it different for us here in Knoxville. Hattie B's had changed their menu to be more tolerable for people who don't want to be in the bathroom screaming all day at work. Farmacy has a tasty version but it isn't Nasville Hot. Either way, I think this looks sort of like Dave's Hot Chicken which looks good but an LA spinoff.

Help with the early voting

I want to early vote tomorrow which for myself will be D across the board but I have to be honest, after reading through once I’m not sure what the correct vote is for the laws that are on the ballot. Can someone help with a little guidance in lay terms for these votes, thanks.

Recycling pickup

Ever since I got a notice in the mailbox about a month ago that recycling collection would now be on thursdays, there hasn’t been a single pickup on my street and surrounding areas. It’s been 3 weeks now. Everyone’s recycling bins are overflowing and no one’s removing them from the curb anymore. What the hell is going on???

Bearden Middle School

I keep hearing about teachers and students being injured. Another parent told me that this year has been highly chaotic and that there were several students inured and arrested during lunch this week for some sort of brawl. We’re new to the area and my daughter is supposed to be going there next year. Did that really happen? Is it as bad as I keep hearing?

Free Community Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Event Today (10/15/2026)

Post image
21 Upvotes

I'm on the board of a local arts nonprofit that is putting on a free community Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance event today (10/15/2026) at New Harvest Park Pavilion. If this is a part of your story, we would love for you to join us! <3

https://transformanceart.org/wings-of-light

This event offers a gentle space for families, friends, and members of our community to remember and honor babies lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, or during infancy. Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are invited to come as you are.

Guests may arrive beginning at 5:00 PM to create a free keepsake remembrance craft to take home. At 7:00 PM, we will join families around the world in the International Wave of Light with a community candle-lighting ceremony.

The evening will include a women’s choir, poetry written by those who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, visual art, and quiet moments of reflection. Through these artistic expressions, we will create space to remember, grieve, find hope, and honor the lasting bond between parents and their babies.

Transformance Art’s Meraki Projects use the arts to create space for healing, compassion, and meaningful conversation when words alone may not be enough.

Whether you have personally experienced pregnancy or infant loss, are supporting someone who has, or simply wish to stand alongside families in our community, you are warmly invited to attend.

Apparently they sold to some other jewelers. They called me to come pick up a watch but apparently they moved, and I don't know where to.

Help?

Family-friendly trivia or karaoke?

Does anyone know of anywhere that has a family-friendly trivia or karaoke night? I know there are plenty of bars/breweries that have trivia nights and karaoke, but I'm looking for somewhere you could bring a family with middle school or high school aged children to participate. Any suggestions appreciated.
