Bingemans Scream Park- claustrophobic?

• Upvotes

Has anyone here been to the scream park this year?

’m heading there tonight and starting to get very anxious as I just read in the FAQ that it’s not advised for people with claustrophobia. Some of what they describe though sounds fine to me- narrow paths, total darkness or surrounded by fog. I’m not bothered by enclosed spaces (like an elevator for example) but by the feeling of being stuck and not able to get free.

I’ve gotten panicky in fun house mirror mazes, or one where the walls are inflatable and you have push through as they close behind you. I also won’t crawl into a tunnel if I can’t see the other end. Walking into a tunnel is fine, or crawling through one where I can see the exit is fine.

I’ve never been to any of these types of attractions before, so I’m curious about the chickening out options- like will I know a claustrophobic part is coming up and can opt out of it and rejoin later? Or is it all or nothing?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. It’s always the not knowing what to expect that’s the worst lol

Telus knocked on my door, wants to install fiber infrastructure on my house

• Upvotes

Their cables have been sticking out of my yard (and the whole block) for a couple of months now since they installed them in the summer.

Some guy in a HV vest just knocked on my door and asked for my consent to install infrastructure on my house. He wasn't full of information... just a guy at the end of his day. I told him I'd look this up before I gave any consent.

So I have been trying to look it up. Lots of links to Telus service and privacy statements, nothing at all from the City of Kitchener.

I don't know what consent in this case means. I have internet over cable that I'm quite satisfied with just now, I am not anxious for fiber and would rather not have to deal with it.

I don't feel obligated to help Telus roll out its network, but I'm not a refusenick... just don't want to be pressured.

Does anyone have some actual information about this they would be willing to share?

Plane flying low over Kitchener - Spotted near fairview/courtland

• Upvotes

Hello I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me figure out what plane this was?
I wasn't able to get a picture but I was driving down fairway toward the highway/courtland area in the neighbourhoods and saw a pretty low flying plane that I had no idea what it was.
It was distinctly tan and was notably kind of boxier than most planes and I figured it was a military plane.

No flight trackers have a plane matching that description and while parts of my description may be iffy, it was 100% tan in colour and didn't seem like a small plane.

Thank you!

Any auto shops buy lightly used tires?

I do not want to deal with Facebook marketplace or private sale hassle. Are there any shops or companies locally that will ideally buy or just take very lightly used Michelin Ice X tires on steel rims?

Rockband Video Game Rental in KW?

I'm looking to rent or borrow a complete Rockband video game set (console, game disc, guitars, drums, microphone) for a party later this year.

Does anyone know any businesses that do this? I tried searching online but couldn't find anything in the area.

Victoria & Lackner Intersection - Tim Hortons

Can we please talk about the absolute disaster that is the traffic situation around the Victoria and Lackner Tim Hortons? It seems like a massive chunk of drivers in this area completely forgot how basic roadway rules function. That Tim Hortons exit is already incredibly busy, and everything gets completely backed up and held up even worse when a train passes by. It requires everyone to have a little patience, but instead, it brings out the absolute worst driving.

First, a quick refresher on the Ontario Highway Traffic Act: if you are exiting private property or a commercial driveway (like Tim Hortons), you do not have the right of way. Traffic already on Lackner Blvd has the absolute right of way. You are legally required to wait until there is a safe gap to pull out. Nosing your car into oncoming traffic and forcing people to slam on their brakes to let you out isn't "zipper merging"—it’s cutting people off.

Second, the left-turn lane there is explicitly designed for drivers to turn left onto Victoria. It is not a staging area or a shortcut lane for people trying to manipulate their way into or out of the Tim Hortons. Stop using it incorrectly and blocking people who are actually trying to navigate the intersection.

To the man who screamed at a woman and called her a whore because she wouldn't let someone butt into traffic from the Tims exit—all while you were sitting the completely wrong way in the left-turn lane and blocking traffic we hope you have a wonderful day.

Anyone know what’s happening at Pioneer Park Plaza right now? Tons of cops

Drove past the plaza a few minutes ago and the intersection near the Circle K is absolutely packed with police cruisers. Looks like they have a section taped off or at least a major presence concentrated right there.

Does anyone know what went down? Hope everyone is okay.

PSA - Pump malfunction at Esso, King & Weber

If you're gassing up (it was busy as gas there is in the 150s) be mindful if you go to pump 3 at this Esso location. It malfunctioned -- leaked and spilled gas all over our car and my husband's shoes. The station employee did not give a damn.

NW-facing home in Kitchener-Waterloo, how’s the sunlight?

Considering a home where the front faces northwest and the backyard/family room faces southeast. For anyone with a similar orientation in KW, how’s the natural light throughout the day, especially in the family room? Does it still feel bright in winter? There will be homes behind the backyard too, so curious if that blocks much sun.
