Featured Post KDR x Viki Game: They Should Watch That!
Hi KDR, this year for K-Drama Day 2026 Viki is partnering with r/KDRAMA and r/kdramarecommends to celebrate the dramas we love to watch!
Since KDR is all about giving and receiving recommendations, we thought we’d give it a twist by making a game out of recommending dramas to K-drama characters!
Ever watch a character in K-drama and think "I have a K-drama in mind that would suit this character perfectly!" Now’s your chance to share. You can pick any K-drama character you'd like to give a recommendation for – just make sure you include a reason (and make sure your reasoning doesn't include spoilers!)
To get the game started, we have a few examples below. Feel free to build off of them or start your own!
- Since Grim Reaper from Guardian: The Lonely and Great God loves watching makjang dramas, we wish he’d host a watch party for Perfect Marriage Revenge, featuring delicious makjang and karma well served!
- Jang Hui Won from Positively Yours is faced with the conundrum of navigating a complex relationship with her boss, so we think she could use some pointers from watching My Bias, My Boss and Love Scout about dealing with awkwardness at the workplace!
- Bo Na from A Bona Fide Killer should totally watch IDOL I for pointers on how to be a good fan to bond with her sisters-in-law, and My Sweet Mobster for inspiration of activities to do with her daughter!

Cha Ju Hyeok of Familiar Wife should watch Go Back Couple (Couple On The Backtrack) to remind himself of why he loved his wife in the first place, and to avoid having to narrowly miss out on his future marriage.
Kang Yu Ra in Family: The Unbreakable Bond should watch A Bona Fide Killer for tips on how she could be a successful spy and still manage a family and heal at the same time.
Kang Seong Jae from The Legend of Kitchen Soldier should watch Study Group for inspiration on how starting at the bottom is okay and hard work and determination combined with a fighting spirit wins in the end.

Your rec for Cha Ju Hyeok got a laugh out of me because I’d seen Go Back Couple before Familiar Wife so with each episode, I kept comparing the two and feeling like Familiar Wife was failing.

An Hui Yeon (the Nana character) from The Scandal should watch Bossam: Steal the Fate for some ideas on navigating widowhood.

I started thinking of characters that I think I would be fun to watch dramas with, and thought of the grandpa from Business Proposal and Scarlett from Search: WWW but gramps has probably seen them already and Scarlett’s taste in dramas runs a little more makjang than I can advise on and probably needs the help of u/myweithisway! Well, I definitely can’t beat What’s Wrong with my Mother in Law?
So I’ll offer some recommendations for a few characters I love (watch their dramas if you haven’t already).
To crybaby Woo Bo Young of A Poem a Day who loves poetry I would recommend Jang Geum, Oh My Grandma as most if not all of the episodes include a little touch of poetry and a lot of delicious food. As someone finding her place in the working world and a girl with a very romantic heart she’ll definitely appreciate this fun drama. Even though she’s not very good at cooking she’ll probably try to cook one or two of the meals for her crush and he may just have to rescue her Bridget Jones’ style.
To Park Ha Gyeong of One Day Off I’ll recommend a couple of travel centric dramas to inspire some longer term travel than a single day. I think she should consider watching The Package and Twelve Nights.
Finally to Kim Baek Du of Like Flowers in Sand I would recommend either a sports themed drama with a little heart like The Winning Try or Navillera to inspire him or When the Camellia Blooms which I think would satisfy his curious mind and he would find relatable as someone who also lives in a close knit seaside town.
