My plants needed water, but they blew over and didn't get much. I hid in the bathroom, I thought the glass might go. I'm in Gladstone.

Didn’t need the power out though. Gladstone had serious wind

It's been a hot minute. Last time I saw this much damage in Gladstone was when a tornado ripped the roof off the QT on Englewood and punched pool balls through the walls at Side Pockets.

Yup, that would be it. If you know where to look you can still see the patches in the stucco on Side Pockets.

Yup, if you know what to look for you can see where the tornado ripped the sidewalk out of the ground in Carriage Hills. The sidewalks were repaired but the coloring is still off all these years later.

I'm in liberty. Those winds and rain were insane, haven't seen anything like that in decades.

I work in Gladstone. I was up there this evening when the power went out in our building. Lucky to have gotten home.

We just gonna pretend it didn't rain every freaking day last week?

It’s been like…4 straight days without rain. It was practically Death Valley here!

The great phenomenon of KC. I live on the southern side of the metro in Olathe. My best friend is up north in Gladstone. We were talking about how for him he had rain once a week, if not multiple times a week, for the last couple months. Meanwhile down here it was so dry I couldn't keep my garden watered enough to not dry out and practically die.

That reminds me there was one time that was pretty cool when I was a kid who lived in an apartment in Blue Springs and it rained out back but not out front. Seemed like the strangest thing back then lol. I miss the rainbows we used to get too. I don't feel like i see very many anymore.

You’re absolutely right we did need the rain. It’s better than having 115° weather

Not like this. I'm lucky to have gotten home from work (where we lost power!).

Didn't need the thunder here in Lawrence to scare my dog, who then woke up the kids... 🙃

I did not need the flash flood into my garage caused by road construction removing the former flood prevention.
But I like the rain! and the lack of 90 degrees.
