Welcome to /r/justwriterthings. Please help the subreddit grow by submitting content, telling people about the subreddit and being generous with your upvotes!
Hi there, welcome to our brand new writer humor community!
I will do my best to find and share content every day on here, as I've been doing for the past year or so over on /r/justgamedevthings
If other people post content, I urge everyone to be generous with their upvotes, because that tends to encourage people to post again. Not every post will be comedy gold, but we'll get there :)
I make an effort to scour twitter and tumblr for good content, but if you have actually original memes and reaction gifs, that's even better.
Let's make this a thing! :D
If you have any feedback or ideas for this subreddit, please let me know in the comments.

The Algorithm Hates Me Spoiler
Ah, a bottle is gently bobbing in the surf.
What's this? A lonely inhabitant, deprived of human interaction, greedily snatches the bottle from the sand. To his delight, he chortles with glee.
"A note!"
A noisy flock of seagulls suddenly surrounds him, their raucous chatter filling the air.
Shoo!
Then the beach-bound vagabond discovers that the note was written by me. Recoiling in disgust, he wipes his hands on his tattered tunic and mutters to himself as he wanders off in indifference.
...which is why I no longer write.

Dont Forget it my future self
I dont know where to start from but this is something i want to write for my future self, yesterday i met with an accident and my left leg is injured now, i am in constant pain because of which i am getting irritated by small things, now just sitting alone i am realising how good my life was before this accident, few things are not going well in my life but there are so many things which are going in my favour, this time made me realised that you should not take anything for granted in your life, i read somewhere a long time ago that a person who is suffering from deadly disease has only wish and that is he doesn't want to die and on the other hand a person with healthy body has thousands of wishes, so from now onwards i will be grateful for this body and life. SOME THINGS WE ONLY LEARN ON HINDSIGHT AND I BELIEVE I GOT MY LESSON TODAY.

The Architect by Z.T.Castor, Hard Science Fiction, Philosophical Thriller Publishing 18th Nov 2026
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi,
I’m looking for advance readers for my upcoming hard sci-fi thriller, The Architect, launching 18th Nov on Amazon. If you enjoy character-driven philosophical thriller, the brutal physics of interstellar travel, and heavy moral friction, I’d love to get your eyes on this. The review is appreciated on launch day but not mandatory.
The book is dedicated to Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson and Dr. Jordan Peterson.
Logline: To escape a dying Earth, an apex engineer turns himself into an immortal chimera and builds a sanctuary ship for 20,000 frozen embryos. But to guarantee their survival, he deliberately selects a crew of brilliant, unattached specialists with nothing left to lose—and strips them of their biological autonomy.
The Setup: Forty light-years from Earth, the crew of The Architect prepares to colonise TRAPPIST-1e. They are armed with an infinite power grid and cellular immortality, but they are trapped under the absolute authority of Edgar Charon—a captain whose neural architecture is heavily integrated with a mission-first AI.
As they navigate the violent terminator storms of an alien planet, the crew realises Edgar’s algorithmic logic views their human attachments, grief, and free will as terminal liabilities. When Earth fires a relativistic kinetic weapon to wipe out their colony, the surviving crew must decide whether humanity is even worth saving.
Intertwining the desperate, science-driven survival of Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary and the existential, cosmic stakes of Cixin Liu's The Three-Body Problem with the sprawling, philosophical scale of Isaac Asimov, The Architect by Z.T. Castor is a gripping thriller about artificial intelligence, absolute control, and the terrifying price of salvation.
Details:
Format: EPUB / PDF (delivered via email)
Word Count: 76135
Content Notes: Contains depictions of atmospheric destruction, medical trauma, and intense psychological friction. No explicit gore.
I am offering free review copies in exchange for an honest Amazon review on launch day.
If you are interested in reading early, please fill out this brief Google Form so I can send you the secure download links:
Alternatively, if you reply here with your email address, I can also send you directly the EPUB/PDF file to download from Google One Drive.
Thank you for your time, and happy reading!

Tired of juggling five tabs to write one chapter
The current workflow: one app for drafting, another for brainstorming, a third for line edits, a fourth for the story bible, and a fifth for tracking plot threads. Every tool switch loses context. Every time the AI needs to see previous work, 2000 words get copy-pasted into a chat window.
It's not sustainable. More time goes into managing the workflow than actual writing.
All-in-one solutions keep getting recommended, but most are just chat interfaces with a different skin. They don't integrate with where the writing actually happens.
What's the actual solution here? Or is this just how it works now?
