Discussion ✨ Looking for flow arts, object manipulation, clowning & magic communities, festivals and conventions worldwide! ✨
I'm looking to discover more social media groups, pages and communities dedicated to all things flow arts and object manipulation.
Anything and everything is welcome, from clowning, magic and juggling to poi, staff, contact juggling, manipulation arts, circus skills, sideshow, bubbles, puppetry and all the wonderfully weird and wonderful things in between!
I'd also love recommendations for festivals, conventions, gatherings, workshops and events where people can connect, share skills and celebrate these art forms.
I'm based in London, UK, and I'm already familiar with most of what's happening in the UK, but I'm sure there are events, conventions and communities I've yet to come across, so please do share those too! I'd particularly love to discover anything new or lesser-known happening locally and around the UK.
I'm equally interested in exploring what's happening internationally, discovering communities, festivals and events across the world, and finding things I might never have come across otherwise.
Whether it's a Facebook group, Instagram page, YouTube channel, online community or an event anywhere in the world, I'd love to hear about it.
Some examples of the kind of communities I'm looking for are Amazing Flow Arts and Flow Arts Community, but I'm especially keen to discover smaller, niche and lesser-known groups too.
Please share your recommendations below. The more unusual, obscure and wonderfully niche, the better!
Thanks in advance!

did you see the italian flag juggler here on reddit ...
did you see that guy juggling scissors ...
some kind of stilts combat(?) or dance(?) in i think belgium...
how about those rope skippers letting loose of the handle then re-catching it after it twirled all over the place..
a recent post led to south corea circus association...
skiers doing cascade pattern down the snowy mountain...
juggling while swimming on your back...
neta oren dumped balls into the water and they popped out juggling like that...
mouth juggling 7 pingpong balls is too normal even to fit in the list..
bounce juggling with clubs onto the floor has been posted...
the other guy on who's got talent lightjuggled silks by a round of ventilators [himself not doing much but adding silks]..
simply 'modern art' - not even so extensively "queer": that performer juggling clay, "deconstructing" and reforming his clay-props to little bits only, then again full ballshape ...
such things come to you with time only ( else they weren't queer or niche or rare literally ).
[ and that's only what i encountered mostly on reddit ]
a life's work to list it all - and the list will be so big you won't know where to start and never be able to check through more than a fraction of it.
makes sense thus only for sort of an encyclopedia of what all there is but you'll hardly get around the problem of sorting them all, labelling, hashtagging, soas to find what one's looking for - sorting them alphabetically by title or artist is alas! deprecated as an option

I don't really see how this answers my question. I'm specifically asking people to share the communities, festivals and conventions they've discovered, precisely so I don't have to spend years stumbling across everything myself. I'm looking to connect with these scenes, not catalogue every performance art that exists.

you asked for queer, niche, rare juggling.
that's exactly what i listed.
{and you're thanking per downvote lol - with that spirit your "project" is over before it started}4

I think we're talking past each other. I'm not asking people to list unusual or niche performances; I'm asking where the people who practise these arts actually gather. Things like juggling clubs, flow arts communities, circus festivals, magic conventions, clown gatherings, online groups, and international events.
The whole point is to discover existing communities through other people's recommendations rather than stumble across individual performances one by one. That's why I clarified what I was looking for.
Also, I didn't downvote you. I'm not sure why you're assuming I did. I'm simply trying to explain that the examples, interesting as they may be, don't answer the question I asked.

The most centralized list is jugglingedge. It has both events and clubs:
