Weibo I've never understood the hate the OT8 fans give her over the book Jessica released
Okay, I want to make something clear. I understand why many people criticize Jessica for publishing two books and sharing her story on Weibo. But, man, she was kicked out of the group. What did people expect? How are they supposed to expect someone to react when her own group allegedly removes her for starting a fashion company?
And the evidence is right there, isnât it? How do you think you would feel if the members of your own group started saying that there had always been eight members and never nine? How would you feel if they started censoring you and taking away your words and your voice, even though you had been the groupâs main vocalist? You can no longer perform at certain venues or participate in certain activities because of the ban imposed on you by your former company.
Itâs sad, and I think many people can understand what that means. I try to put myself in her shoes, and honestly, it seems unfair to me. We donât even know whether she still has any kind of communication with the other eight members or what their relationship is like now.
I genuinely hope they can reunite in 2027, but we also have to be realistic. We donât know whether it will happen, so all we can do is be patient and keep hoping.
What Iâve never understood is why so many people say, âOh, but she published a book.â Whatâs wrong with her publishing a book? In fact, I think itâs perfectly fine that she decided to share part of her story. We donât even know whether everything described in it is true or whether she simply took certain events from her life and presented them from her own perspective. In the end, we canât guarantee that everything is true, but we also canât claim that everything is false.
We should also remember that many of the theories circulating online came from fansâ own research and speculation. Some of them may be false. However, that doesnât mean we can assume that everything she said is a lie. Nor can we conclude that, if she had lied, she would necessarily have been sued for defamation, or that the absence of a lawsuit proves that everything she said is true.
What I find contradictory is seeing OT8 fans insist that everything is a lie, that Jessica is a bad person, and that she was the one who burned the bridges. But do they really think those bridges were still intact after she was kicked out of the group? From my perspective, that relationship was already broken from the moment she left.
And honestly, I find it hypocritical that some people are so harsh toward Jessica for starting a fashion company and publishing books about her experience, while other idols have been involved in criminal cases or sexual abuse scandals and still continue enjoying their careers as if nothing happened.
Iâm not saying Jessica is perfect or that we should blindly believe everything she says. I simply think we should be consistent and look at the situation with a bit of objectivity instead of attacking her for everything she does. At the end of the day, she also has the right to tell her side of the story.
