Got myself a live 3 for my birthday after having the 1 since covid started and kept thinking man… this thing is so gifted as a standalone system but it’s just lacking in certain sounds. Orchestral in particular sounds lame autosampled. Got to tinkering with usb C and realized… I can just use my iPad as a soundbox.
It’s pretty crazy. One cable and any auv3 I want is both controlled as a midi track and sent as an audio track to mpc. Aum sees all 24 inputs on the mpc, I don’t even sync the clock I just use it as a mixer. I’m sketching video game music on the couch, running Iconica flutes and harps into the mpc, bouncing audio from mpc fabric synth into iOS granulator plugins and back all digital. Hopefully I have a video to share with some tunes soon but this is a nice workflow.

New ijo audio plugin, Undersong is one of the most interesting FX releases I’ve come across in a while. Although it’s an effect app, it works more like an instrument, generating notes and melodies in response to incoming audio.
Available as an AUv3 for iPad and iPhone and as a Max4Live device too.

So my iPad got stolen at school and I can't track it. Assuming it won't be found, I don't want to spend on a new one right now. Ive been using AUM with a bunch of different sound generators and effects for my amibent music production. I loved it so much.
I have FL Studio on my laptop which I also carry to school everyday. I know I can use decent sampler on FL but is there any other tools for computer DAWs I can use to capture the same nice workflow as AUM???
Idk, this just SUCKS!

I know… it’s extremely stupid and also a very niche genre… but that this is doable on this stupid device is completely mental 😂😂😂

Here's the TMWSS walkthrough of the rather marvellous Vascular - Tactile Synth app.
Vascular - Tactile Synth by Absolute Management SIA is a music app on iPad and iPhone that leans into randomness and the joy of musical discovery, rather than the control obsession that many of us have over every single synth parameter and MIDI note these days. It’s a refreshing example of something new, which I love to showcase on this channel!
Set off a bunch of random generators and effects in various abstract, rhythmic or melodic categories, and then use functions such as the intriguing ‘Angiogenesis’ to evolve your session in unexpected ways. Or establish at least a semblance of control by picking exactly which generators you want from a generous list, adjust their parameters to your liking, and then use control generators to lock in your sequences. My advice, though, is to throw out your usual rules and see how it feels to embrace the chaos!
The app is being constantly updated. New stuff has been added even in the 3 days since I recorded the content of this video, so I may well return to Vascular on this channel in a few weeks to see what else is there at that point. Maybe it’s a good candidate for a livestream…

After some years away from the scene, I was considering picking up a 2021 M1 ipad Pro and getting BM3 and my sound packs back again. I can't find BM3 on the app store.
If I've purchased it in the past, can I still reinstall it via my account?
This is a real bummer if I can get it back. Loved that app, nothing comes close to it on IOS for my style of production.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏿
***UPDATE
Thanks guys for everyone that's chimed in and reassured me that BM3 is not done with, might be in need of some TLC, but by no means done with as far as app store and installation goes.
I'll be getting right back to it, once I pick up my trusted 2021 m1 12.9inch pro (great 2nd hand prices BTW).
I've got all of the staple plug-ins and effects from 3/4 years ago 😅. Any relatively new AAA FX or auv3 instruments anyone can recommend?

Hey there. I’m looking for a back door to control Logic Pro on iPad’s tempo via a midi signal into my iPad. Does such a hub exist in app form that can take a midi clock and disburse it via Link?
I can do this if I’m using Ableton obviously but I don’t always want to turn on Live and instead use a hardware midi sequencer sometimes. Thanks

The lack of mixer is troubling. And auto normalizing tracks when exporting with no way of turning it off?
I am not willing to pay logic subscription, so what are my options.
Yes I know there are track mixer settings in garageband but it suffers from not having a master track among other things.
Any other comparable iPad DAWs? I like GarageBand for its simplicity, and great guitar amp models and synth sounds.

I ended up buying three of Synido’s tiny stereo interfaces (the A10, A20 and A20 Pro), so here’s how they compare, at least in my experience. I hope this helps someone avoid a bad purchase.
Pros (for each):
Pros (for the A20 units):
Cons (for each):
Cons (A20):
The lack of headroom and the clipping are a BIG issue in my opinion, but if the signal going into these is tamed and less hot (even something coming from a mixer, pedal, etc. can be gentler), they can record beautifully.
Summary: I’ll only keep the A20 Pro and sell the rest. It won’t replace my iRig USB (more headroom), but I’ll use it when I want a small-footprint stereo recording and the recorded signal isn't hot. The limited headroom is bad, but I think all the units have their purpose: this one is perfect for small / travel setups.
-----
The background story of why I got all of these:
First, I got the A20 (silver). I liked it a lot, but the deal-breaker was the lack of a direct monitoring switch on the device, so I couldn’t turn off the dry signal... This made the interface unusable if I wanted to apply any effects on the iPad / iPhone (I heard both the wet and dry signals). The only use case I can imagine for it is recording fully wet sounds... like if someone wants to record their sessions with AUM, GarageBand or even the stock recording apps... BUT without applying any FX afterwards.
I checked their portfolio again, saw that the round one (A10) has a dedicated direct monitoring switch, and ordered it. It’s a compact unit and works well, but the form factor and layout are weird: I really have to pay attention not to press anything else when I want to adjust the monitoring volume or gain... and it has the least headroom.
After trying it out, I saw that Synido had released a Pro version of the A20, and this time it has a DM switch... so I ordered it as well. It works great; if I’d got this unit first, I’d probably have skipped the rest.

I love using AUM to record live sessions. Not only because it records in good quality, but also because I can apply nice effects to my tracks... I’ve used the Zoom AMS44 as an interface and recorded both instruments separately (the FM-1 in mono and the T8 in stereo because of the delay, which was applied at the instrument level). Effects used: Eventide Blackhole, Rymdigare and RoughRider3.

As the title says,
I am trying to help a musician friend of mine find a MIDI keyboard that is compatible with iPad.
He has a copy of the Yonac Steel Guitar Pro app but finds that the ipad touchscreen isn't giving him the control or response that he wants for the project that he is working on.
A MIDI Keyboard with a pitch control stick would be much more suitable for his needs.
I've tried searching online but I have only been able to find ones that are relatively expensive or there is incomplete information about whether additional adaptors are required to make it compatible with the iPad.
I'm not certain whether the iPad is an older model or a more recent one. Whether it has the old Lightning connections or is a USB-C.
Cheaper would be better as he only wishes to try it out to see whether he can get the steel guitar sounds that he needs.
So far the best candidates I have found have been the Korg Microkey 25 and Korg Microkey Air 25. There is also the Akai MPK Mini plus although that is more expensive.
Does anyone here use a cheap MIDI with their ipad that is functional and easy to connect to a range of ipad models?

Hey friends, I’m looking for an interface that will give me four outs. I need to be able to listen to the iOS audio because I use voiceover and I want that to be in my monitor mix and I want to have a stereo main mix without iOS, audio, and voiceover. Any suggestions?

People that perform live, what is your full setup? Mix of hardware gear + iPad apps? USB hub and digital interface must be essential. What do you do on software vs hardware? How do you program changes and sync scenes for a song, then load the next song. Im trying to imagine something more structured than a dawless jam.
