Best pub for a solo visit?

I’ll be in your lovely town weekend after next all on my lonesome and had a good goo online for pubs and bars to visit. I’m wondering which you’d recommend for someone on their own? Happy to remain on my own or chat with people around as long as there’s good vibes!

Lost hat

Hi all! I am visiting Inverness for a few days and seem to have lost my nice wool hat. It is a dark green Buff Marino wool hat, last seen after I parked on Hill st. I will be in town until Monday if anyone happens to find it.

Thank you!

Is clava cairns still over-run with tourists?

Hello,

I am a local (inverness)

And want to know if its still over run with tourists as i would like to go,

And not listen simulataniously to 1500 americans and whatnot pretending to be scottish and vandlising the area🤦‍♀️

Would tommorow be quiet and if so does anyone know what sorta time during 10-2 when it would be quietest?

And also if anyone would know the fastest bus there?

Any local companies replace failed double-glazing?

Does anyone know where I can find someone in the Inverness area who repairs or replaces failed double-glazed units? I'm not looking for entirely new windows, just replacement glass. "FIX from CR Smith", who specialise in such work, are based in Dunfermline and won't come here.

Loch Ness Lullabies radio show

Apologies if this isn't allowed and I won't be at all offended if you delete it, I'm blatantly chancing my arm!

I have a show on Mixcloud every Sunday at 6pm called Loch Ness Lullabies, it's completely free to listen to, has no ads and includes two hours of very chilled out music. I'm still feeling my way with the format but it's already built up a nice community of listeners. I'd love to get more locals involved and hope to be including some interviews and other bits of interest from around the Loch.

Tradies - Birch Plywood

Long shot but anyone got any recommendations for where they get 18mm birch ply in Inverness?

Just ran out of what I accrued from Woodstock before it closed and all the usual places don’t stock it - TP,Jewsons,MGM etc

Given the delivery charges almost tempted to get it cnc’d if I have to get it from central belt.

Cheers

I'm looking for recommendations for someone who can do a boiler service, for an oil heating system?

Not in desperate need right now, but soonish would be great 🤞🏼

Thanks!

My child always says when the TV adverts come on

"Good place to poop"

And I have to admit, she is not wrong.

I love taking a posh shit here.

Anyone else?

Highland Realms Comic Con has a few more openings for half-day volunteers, whose efforts earn a t-shirt and admission to the con for the other half of the day.

Good Trustworthy Garage

My mother-in-law’s car needs new front brakes and most likely discs. Anyone have any recommendations for a good garage? She was going to take it to the dealership but I know they’d charge her 3 times what it should cost.

Social Groups

Hi! I’m 23F and looking to make some new friends in Inverness, but I’m really struggling to find social groups for people around my age 😅

I work Monday–Friday 9–5, so I’m mainly looking for things in the evenings or at weekend (saturday after 3).

I’m into reading, writing, journaling/scrapbooking and generally cosy/creative stuff. I’d also be open to trying something new if it’s beginner friendly!

I’m not really into running, football, climbing or going to the pub just for the sake of meeting people. Ideally I’d love something fairly relaxed where it’s normal to turn up alone and actually get to know people over time.

I’ve already found a few of the Nook events and some local book clubs, but I’m wondering if there are any groups/classes/social things that just aren’t advertised very well online?

Any recommendations would be appreciated 😊

Have you heard? The team that makes the dragons come to life for the actors will be at Highland Realms Comic Con!

Callum & Courtney will be hosting the 'Here Be Dragons' panel, telling you all about what it's like on set, how they become the dragons, and sharing some telly magic. This is one panel you definitely do not want to miss!

They'll also be around all day for photos and autographs!

Tickets are on sale now at www.highlandrealms.co.uk

The wild world of Highland Hospitality employment

Seeing as we're nearing the arse end of the tourist season... Do we do bitching about employment scandals up here, same as they do on r/Glasgow?

Hairdressers that are good with vivids?

It feels like any time I've wanted to try something a bit different and dye my hair fun colours, my local salons have disappointed me by trying to play it safe by only ever doing highlights in the fun colours (instead of all over like was asked), or weren't interested in lifting my dark hair enough for them to show, or only had a small selection of vivids and didn't seem all that enthusiastic about them and were much more comfortable with the standard colours.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places that are actually good with vivids and more fun or alternative colours and styles?

Weegie looking for decent scran

Hello,

Up for a wedding reception this weekend. Instead of scrawling through trip advisor and social media, thought I’d give Inverness Reddit a chance for some local (or expert) advice for a late lunch to line our stomachs before celebrating in the evening.

Open to most things (no allergies or dietary requirements). Also looking for reasonably priced and not too expensive so happy with pub grub/pizza/burgers as an option

Welcome your advice and suggestions

Casual football options

Hi folks,

Just moved here, looking for a regular game of 5/7-a-side football during the week, indoor or outdoor.

If anyone has a game going and needs players, or could put me in touch with someone, I’d greatly appreciate it.

If anyone finds Snoopy!!

Post image
301 Upvotes

Cross posted from r/scotland as per suggestions, I posted there yesterday about my lost little Snoopy.

Please, please, if anyone finds my little Snoopy, can you reach out to me.

My partner and I were at Culloden Battlefield and North Gateway Cafe yestwrday on the way back to Liverpool as well, we are staying there while in the UK, we stopped at Glenturrent Distillery and realised he's missing. We called the cafe, but they don't think he's there and wouldn't check while I was on the phone and my partner is certain he isn't at Culloden.

My partner thinks he accidentally left him behind at the North Gateway Cafe, where we had breakfast. We're so far away from there already to turn back, so if anyone finds him, please let me know. I'm so heartbroken.

He's travelled everywhere with us. He is my comfort while I'm away from my own puppies and home as this is my first time overseas, and he is a gift from friends who travelled to Vietnam.

And if my post needs something about Inverness, it's an incredibly beautiful place with so much depth and history. The cafe was lovely, and the little red squirrels the cutest.

Hi all , I'm up in Inverness for 3 days. Just looking for recommendations for good places to go for dinner, grab a coffee and maybe watch some live music. So I don't end up walking in circles getting hangry 😂.

Fort George Antennas

We went to Chanonry Point the other day and beyond Fort George we could see some large red and white antennas. Does anyone know what they are?
