Picture/Video Has anyone caught onto this?
I was recently revisiting the 'Sony E3 2010 Press Conference' video for some nostalgia, and noticed that the original trailer announcement for inFamous 2 had Cole McGrath wear a completely different outfit while also having a hairstyle.
I've linked the video here with the timestamp: https://youtu.be/o0W6bSU6iR8?si=Yqi5yA38VdBWyJKO&t=6300

Nah man, you’re the first to ever notice this! /s
We generally refer to this guy as “beta Cole”. There was a whole fan campaign to bring back the original Cole design, which was so significant that Sucker Punch actually listened and changed him to the final version we got. Much better imo, as in the final release he looks like a higher fidelity version of the first game’s design.

would’ve been cool to have some redesigns as skins, like the reaper and Kessler ones.

Yeah, there was a whole campaign to get him changed back by, then IGN Playstation editor & now Kinda Funny lead, Greg Miller who loved the first game. It was a mini version of Movie sonic's backlash. I also have the Game informer where they showed off the first game when Cole was referred to as "Dylan" which this design looks very much like a Dylan more than I1 or I2's final cole design

Cole’s not the only infamous protagonist to have a redesign in the final game Delsin has one early design too.

There was promo art with this design on the cover of Game Informer too. What we got is probably better, but I do like it.

I remember this. And they got a lot of flack for it, rightfully so. They tried to "Nathan Drake" him.

I'm pretty sure that this Cole design wasn't meant to be Cole at all and supposed to be a new character within the game but the fan backlash encouraged them to bring back his old design.

I wonder if that influenced the endings somehow? I remember hearing how they wanted to encourage the bad ending because the good ending would kill Cole, but then they were surprised that people loved Cole and still chose the good ending, which was directly why they made Delsin in Second Son.
Sounds like they were planning to have different protagonists all along but decided to listen to the fans regardless.

Oh i remember the backlash, it was huge deal back in the day. So much so that the developers went back to the desing that we ended up having. Much more close to Infamous 1 cole
