Beaded cap
Definitely my biggest project so far. I'm really satisfied with the results, it was initially my plan to only do the rim, but I decided later that the embroidered feather looked a little too plain & gave it a quick outline.
The rim has 3125 beads (125 rows, 25 beads per row)
It's the only project i've been able to count beads on & I almost used my entire vial of orange beads 🤣
There's still some mistakes, a bit uneven, but since it's just for me to wear it think thats alright
Bought the hat from the Stó:lō nation gift shop

You ate with this. How long did it take you? I’ve been wanting to try beading a hat brim for ages. Did you use an awl?

I didnt use an awl, but I did break 3 Glover needles trying to get through the thick cardboard 😭 I had to quickly make myself some leather thimbles so I could push the needle through in the first place, but it got done! An awl is probably a good idea if you dont want to snap your needles in half lol
It took me about a day and a half but I was doing a couple other things in between beading, if was giving 100% focus to the hat I probably could have done it in one day! Most of the time was taken stringing beads & making sure I had my pattern in order, occasionally needing to pull out the thread & re-string my needle

Love it! Back in the 90s, beaded caps were super popular. They seriously need to make a comeback!
