How to find good non fiction writers in India, that do not use AI ?

We are a higher education startup and need a research oriented writer, who can partner with the founder to write articles/ newsletter on 'challenges and solutions of higher education problems' in India.

We wanted a long term thinking and writing partner, but we keep ending up with people that have one of the two challenges.

- Generic and surface insight on the topic, even after research.

- AI slop being passed off as human writing.

We are based out of Mumbai, would prefer having someone in the city who can jam once in a while. But for someone really good, remote is also ok.

We start freelance but If we like the work, this will grow into a long term engagement or a full time role.

How do we go about hiring this person ?

Since this is a community of writers, I would really appreciate if you could point me in the right direction on how to go about hiring the right person.

“Give Me Feedback on How I Write” is a Cliche. It Teaches Nothing Unless……!!!

Post image

To all the aspiring writers, take this unsolicited advice if you are really serious about the craft of writing.

First and foremost, congratulations for being able to express your innermost thoughts through words.

You are a gifted person.

Remember that very few people can write.

Secondly, when you ask for feedback on how you write, chances are people will try and discourage the talented aspiring writer in you.

Do not ask for any feedback whatsoever.

Nobody will give you honest feedback.

Just write.

To test the waters, put out a teaser of what you have created.

Wait for the comments.

They will be honest.

They will be brutal.

They will be devoid of any fakery whatsoever.

Keep writing.

The more you write, the more you will learn about your own style of writing.

The fact of the matter is only you can teach yourself how to become better at writing.

These feedbacks will confuse you and leave you frustrated.

Or, if you have the resources, seek help from published writers whose words will carry weight and whose feedback will be authentic.

Or else asking for feedback on online platforms is a wild goose chase unless there is some hidden agenda at play.

This is a bittersweet romantic poetry which states the feelings of an admirer towards his admiration.

A person who is fond of popularity and fame is found to be beautiful, and that is why she tests her admirer... But, though she tests him and puts up conditions for her presence.. he still misses her absence.

Need honest review about my writing style

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi guys, I am beginer level writer and mostly love to write cinematic south indian style commercial movie stories . I am little confused in general of my style whether to continue like that or to change into more traditional book writing style. Please guide me whether the approach of my writing and vibe of it is good or need to improve?. I am more interested in to know the review about whether the storyline and potential is good rather than English vocab or grammer.

Inspired by some real incidents.i am gonna keep the plotline and concept video to get better immersiveness of story.

Title: Puli: Oka Charitra

English Title: Tiger: A Legacy

Keyword : Puli Veshalu :-people dress as tiger and dance infront of goddess in her festival to please her as she is fond of tiger .

Concept:

In the town of Vidyalanagaram, three gurus who are brothers have been teaching the traditional art of Puli Veshalu for many years, each with a unique style. However, one disagreement creates a rift between them. From then on, they refuse to dance together in front of the goddess during the town's annual festival.

Although the festival continues every year, the three brothers no longer perform together. Instead, each celebrates with his own students. This division continues into the next generation, making the goddess unhappy. Over time, the town begins to lose its artistic heritage, economic prosperity, and importance.

Meanwhile, a wealthy businessman plans to acquire the land surrounding the temple to expand his business. Driven by greed and selfishness, he uses his cunning ways to achieve his goal, without caring about the town's traditions or its people.

How will the students of the three gurus overcome their differences and unite to save their town from the greedy businessman? In this modern era, where money is often given more importance than art, how will they inspire future generations to learn and preserve the traditional art of Puli Veshalu and help Vidyalanagaram regain its lost heritage and glory?

Can human judgment beat Ai checkers when it comes to spotting Ai written content?

I used to think experienced writers or readers could spot AI writing better than most detection tools. Now I am not so sure. Human judgment depends a lot on what we have already read. Someone who mostly reads older literary fiction may see modern commercial writing as shallow, repetitive or overly simple and assume it is AI generated. Another person may read the exact same thing and see nothing unusual. That makes human judgment subjective. AI detectors have their own problems too. Different tools use different models and methods and the score can change after a few words are rewritten or removed. Free versions can also be limited while paid versions still produce false positives. I once tested a completely AI generated piece of around 50,000 words across different checkers like originality ai and gptzero and others. Only two of them returned something close to 100 percent AI and even those tools are known to flag human writing sometimes. There is another part of this that I find. As people consume more AI generated writing, our own language may slowly start picking up the same wording, structure and rhythm. If that happens human instinct could become even less reliable over time.
Have you ever read something, decided it was probably AI written and then run it through a checker to see whether your guess matched the result?

Recently, I’ve started writing a story, and I’d love to get some honest feedback on it.

This story is somewhat inspired by my own life. It’s about me and a girl, but I’ve added a few extra twists, climaxes, and unexpected turns to make it more engaging and emotionally compelling.
I want an honest review to understand whether people would find this story interesting enough to read if I published it on platforms like Instagram or Reddit. I’d appreciate genuine feedback on the storytelling, emotional impact, suspense, pacing, and whether the readers would be interested in continuing from one part to the next.
I’m sharing the parts I’ve written so far, and I’d really appreciate your honest opinion on what works, what doesn’t, and what I could improve to make the story more engaging for readers.

I Have a Story I Want to Share on Instagram, But I Need Help With the Format

I’ve written a story that I really want to share on Instagram, but I’m struggling to figure out the best format to present it.
I want people to connect with the characters, feel the emotions, and stay interested until the very end. I’m considering posting it in multiple parts, but I’m not sure whether I should use reels with text, carousel posts, voiceovers, or some other format.
For those who write stories or create storytelling content on Instagram:
● What format would you recommend for a story told in multiple parts?
● How can I keep people engaged and make them look forward to the next part?
● What works better for emotional stories: text on screen, images with captions, or voiceovers?
● Any tips for increasing reach and building a genuine audience?
I’d really appreciate your suggestions, personal experiences, or examples of creators who do this well. I want to find a format that does justice to the story rather than simply posting text on a screen.
Thanks in advance!

Hey, we’re a small team of 12 at an AI edtech company based in Pune. Most of our clients are on the US West Coast, with a few on the East Coast.

We’re looking for a fresher (bcs we all are in our 20s in the team) who enjoys researching, writing, learning new things, and working well with a team.

The challenge: Write a short 180–250 word post for US high school students about why AI is becoming increasingly important and the amazing things students can explore or build with it. Keep it engaging, relatable, and specific.

ai/tech background is a plus, but not necessary. curiosity and a willingness to learn matter more here.

bit abt work setup: remote or on-site in Pune but on site preferred. You should be comfortable working US PST hours, which mean late nights in India.

We offer competitive pay, and on-site arrangements include accommodation, meals, internet support, and bonus opportunities as part of the package.

Strong submissions could lead to a paid role, depending on fit and needs.

I’m genuinely hoping to find someone curious, dependable. You don’t need to know everything already, just bring your A game pls.

best of luck!!

Debut Novel Teaser

Post image
23 Upvotes

Like I mentioned before I’ll be launching my debut novel soon and I want to launch it on Dussehra because of the whole resemblance of good vs evil. I wanted to share some bits and thoughts before the launch to get a conversation going.

I'm a debut author (disclosure: the book comes out on 20 October, but this isn't a promo post and I won't link it).

The part I rewrote most wasn't an action scene. It was the pen. Every Indian police station has a ballpoint tied to a string at the entry register. In my book it's been knotted seven times, a record of every attempt to steal a ten-rupee pen from a building full of police. Getting that right mattered more to me because the essence of our imagination lies in the smallest details that usually get ignored.

Same with the chaiwala who distributes glasses by seniority, and the evidence room door propped open by a pedestal fan that's switched on so the door swings.

For anyone writing a specific place: the texture that makes readers trust you is almost never the big set piece. It's the dumb, exact, true detail.

Wouldn’t you agree?
