Want to read fics that gets me hyped up. Something like the Hero trilogy by joe. Epic battle scenes, badass moments(not in a corny way) etc. With Harry as MC please

I always think that this is an underrated part of the books by the fandom. Harry isn’t at the Dursleys, doesn’t really need to sneak out, doesn’t have much going on… and is pretty much living in Diagon Alley.

Are there any fics that have Harry do interesting things over the course of this summer?

I remember VERY little of this fic, otherwise. Maybe it was slightly angsty? Regardless, I remember Harry and his dormmates having a rather real-feeling conversation where they talk about how mortifying it is to imagine their teachers in compromising positions, and Harry comes out with that banger of a joke. All the boys are laughing so hard that they're crying.

could be one-shots too I just want to know what's sad out there that I HAVEN'T read.

I just want suggestions for Haphne fics. Preferably 100k+. Doesn't matter if it's ongoing or finished, or if it has a bad upload schedule. Also, no smut and preferably no harem, please. Everywhere is flooded with Haphne smut. I've read a lot. But maybe I missed some good ones

I'm a sucker for fics where magical Harry ends up in a universe where the wizarding world doesn't exist, but he still has his magic!

A few examples of what I mean:

• Whispers in Corners by esama — Harry uses his powers as a Master of Death to work as a medium in a non-magical world.
• Spellist — Harry ends up in the Marvel universe.
• Double-Aspect Paradox — Harry ends up in the body of his female alternate-universe counterpart in a world without magic, where she's the daughter of mafia boss James Potter and marries Tom Riddle.

I'm looking for more fics with a similar premise! Crossovers are very welcome, but I'm also happy with original non-magical AUs. I especially love seeing how Harry's magic, knowledge, or abilities change things in a world where nobody believes magic is real.

Fics where the sentences and dialogues just flow, where the plot is riveting and will keep you turning the page. Fics with writing that can can open or change your mind on the most absurd of plots, or the most unlikely ships. Fics that know their characters so well. Fics that made you realize that fanfic can surpass the original body of work they are based on.

What if Harry Potter had someone who kept coming back?

Long before Hogwarts, Harry meets Remus Lupin—a tired wizard who answers his questions instead of dismissing them. With Remus willing to listen and Harry determined to keep asking, curiosity becomes the foundation of the wizard Harry will grow into.

The familiar story still waits for him: Hogwarts, Voldemort, war, and all the choices in between.

But this Harry has spent years asking one very dangerous little question.

**What if?**

This was a longer fic spanning at least 3 or 4 of Harry's years at Hogwarts, and was on either Ao3 (most likely) or ff.net. He ran away from the Dursleys - I believe either in his 1st year or before - and went to live in the cottage at Godric's Hollow. I can't remember how he comes across GH, I'm pretty sure it's via Gringotts.

Harry is helped by a house elf, either Dobby or Kreacher, who lives with him - I can't remember which and thats one of the parts thay frustrates me most lol. The elf does the cooking and sorts the garden and helps clean and fix the house to make it livable. Its possible that Harry ends up with both elves later.

Dumbledore realises Harry no longer lives at Privet Drive and tries multiple times to send him back, and to find out where he's staying instead, even trying to prevent Harry going on the train home. Harry finds a way home to GH each time and Dumbledore is increasingly annoyed, as Harry refuses to give up his new home and insists he's fine.

Extra: Things I believe, but im not 100% sure on -

- Harry taught himself extra magic from his parents old school books. If he went to GH before he started school, which I think he did, then he learns to do magic before Hogwarts as well.

- There was a blood rune circle under the rug in his nursery that he thinks is how Voldemort was killed. This might be from another fic, but I'm 60% sure its this one.

Any help finding this would be appreciated, I'm trying as many Ao3 filters as I can!

It is me again.
It am pretty good at plotting, but need help with characters/worldbuilding.

Background
I am writing a war trilogy that commences after the changed ending of the OotP.
Some of the changes will inclued changes to solve certain plot holes and because I literally need a character as plot device.
These changes will be placed in notes, e.g. Ginny is sorted into Slytherin (I don't want to go that far back to change this matter, especially as I will change between characters' POVs, and Ginny will get a chance to demonstrate how she feels).

One of the things I want is to show a good Syltherin. Ginny is one, but I want some of the teachers. Additionally, year 6 will bring more subjects and introduce more characters. I want/need deputies for all 4 houses.

Please have a look at what I have and give me honest feedback. Plus, if you have a better idea: shoot.

How does this look to you? And do help me with a few questions:

1. Can you imagine Snape and Aurora having a thing for each other? How would you envisage Aurora?

Below is my short view:
Aurora is a half-blood. Her father was killed by OotP in the first war (accidentally, and before any real war even began, while things were just "cooking") and this shaped her. Her mother is a muggleborn. Although she was totally a Ravenclaw, three things determined she would be sorted into Slytherin: 1) her desire to work hard to succeed (she wants to he Headmistress of Hogwarts) because she doesn't think she is worthy of love.

Her mother taught her she must never be any less of an achiever just because she was poor or lived without a father. She sent her a message that she is only as worthy as her successes are worth.

Because she is so insecure (although she appears the complete opposite; it is a mask she wears), she needs constant validation. Snape, who is sure of himself, is the one to give support and validation to her as she often comes up with ideas how to better the processes, improve spells and she even has a collection of spells she is working on (she has ADHD, which is why she has trouble finishing things).

2) Disappointment bordering on desire for revenge. Her father was a member of the OotP and nobody gave 2 cents after he died. Her whole life was turned upside down

1. What do you think about Charlie becoming a teacher for Care of Magical Creatures (yeah, dragons finally do come)? He would be the first Weasley to become a teacher, and he would take place after Rolanda Hooch resignes due to private health reasons.

I have an AU fic idea, most likely multiple fics in one collections type of big
It will have Holly Jane Potter, redhead with the face of Lily, but the eyes and attitude of her dad. Not femHarry.

Now let’s give it a stretch and say that Harry got more from Lily than just the eyes, he was similar to her in character. Curious bordering nasty nosy (Hey, Tuney, see what you did there), talented, forgiving. Overall if his parents were allowed to parent him he would be his Mama’s boy. Or so I like to think. Because can you imagine Snape’s face if that was the case? I did, and IT IS GREAT.

Ofc Harry was his own person and not a puzzle of his parents, and Holly Jane Potter will be too.

But let’s say she is rather more like James, stubborn enough to rarely change her mind, fierce, loves her good old bravado, plenty crafty with what she’s got (which isn’t much, but we’ll get to that later), and most importantly of all, she will rather burn the world, than let even one of her most cherished people die.

Oh, and also, one Petunia Dursley nee Evans found the presence of a Lily doppelganger so very unbearable, that she sent the girl as far as she could to the first orphanage she found.

Which was Wool's Orphanage in London. House of Tom Marvolo Riddle for much of his formative years, yes, that one.

Which is only the tip of what I intend to do with Holly/Voldy parallels. See, someone has been destructing hocruxes, and Holly is one of the few remaining. That and the fact that Holly is barely 11 and is still growing affects her in, let me just say, ways. I liked the idea of toying with the concept of human hocrux and it holds so much more potential than just a peephole to Voldy’s mind (and this is only if he’s alive, wonder why that is, J. K.) and a speedrun of parseltonque.

Human hocruxes have never been done before, how do the souls mix, how does it affect the body and mind, if at all. And in abcense of all other hocruxes, Voldy can be reborn. . . Through Holly?Exiting, right? Told you so.

Last but not least, R.A.B. found a way to get out of the cave that fateful night.

So many more changes are going to be in this AU, namely confident Neville, who is believed to be The-boy-who-lived, defeater of Voldy-the-baldy, Regulus making his own secret group to destroy the hocruxes while hiding his identity (because he does not trust Dumbledore), Holly being the un-chosen one, a Potter in Slytherin, a Potter that snuck into Hogwarts after being told she will not be attending, because that is what Potters do.
And that gives Regulus gray hairs, because he, as of late, has of late become her legal guardian.

Is anyone interested to read a story like this? I sure have many more ideas if that's the case. Feel free to leave yours in the comments if you have any. Each will be greatly appreciated

Ack I can’t find this fic and it’s been on my brain all day. I remember Harry either died or was sent to another world (wow I’m so helpful) and the important caveat is that the Sirius in that world was the Sirius from the original because when Sirius fell through the veil, his memories combined with the memories of the serius of the parallel world. So Sirius had to reconcile two people’s memories and he might’ve been married? Not sure- but Harry and Sirius reuniting was a big plot point. I think James and Lily were alive, no Voldemort but I’m not sure if I’m mixing that with another fic. I believe it was on ao3!

On that note, any recs for fics involving Harry in a parallel universe with his parents or during the maurader times, or just Harry meeting his parents in some way? Gotta love fics that acknowledge the shit he’s gone through from others pov there. (I’ve read so many atp lol but it’s what I feel like reading.)

There's a picture of someone flying in the sky that leaks to the muggle press. What ensue is the Secret is forced to be broken and magic is mixed with science as well as technology.

I also remember there being a subplot about the pope being an actual wizard and magic affecting all major religions because the ghost of a biblical character wasn't happy with the current divisions so there's people who try to make a one world religion and others who reject this etc.

Just what the title says,

I am back after a long hiatus and want to read something interesting. I don’t mind a good fluff oneshot or a well written story. Just that it should not be pointless or thought less bullshit.

Would really appreciate a in-depth story with harry learning/capable of some new magic, some nice world building and a thoughtful plot.

The story starts at the end of second year. Ron and Ginny leave early, leaving Hermione and Harry alone at Hogwarts. The next part I'm not too sure about. What I remember next is that Harry has a trunk, that is massively expanded inside (like a little country or so), it has to be a heirloom, that I think he got at Gringotts. Somehow he lives there with Hermione and definitely Luna. I think Susan and Daphne are there as well. Somehow they sleep together naked (?) which is initiated by Luna.
Somehow there is a contract that should force Harry to marry Ginny, but the goblins do something and Ginny is bound to Harry in a different way (not really a slave).
Any idea?

It’s an auror undercover investigation fic where Harry (i think he’s the MC) follows some pure bloods to a club with drugged air and prostitution.

He undercovers that these clubs are for repopulating the wizards world with pure bloods and also repopulating Voldemort’s army for when he comes back.

As he digs further, he discovers more pure blood families that have participated at the clubs and that some of his friends were born there.

I think last I read was a scene where he calls in Moody for backup because he uncovers a hidden map in a room laying out the locations of all the clubs in the wizarding world.

I read a fic a while back that I was hoping to reread lately, and for the life of me I cannot find it. I THINK I read it on AO3, but it may have been fanfiction.net.

I remember that it takes place in 5th year, and the school year has already started, because Harry was mentally complaining about Umbridge's teaching.

The main thing I remember is that he was hiding out in the Room of Requirement, specifically he found the Room of Lost Things, and was marveling at everything in it.

He asked Dobby and Winky if students were allowed to take items from it, and they introduced him to the Head Hogwarts Elf Deek (from the Hogwarts Legacy game), who gave him permission, provided he only look through stuff when a house elf was present.

Harry, over the next few weeks, sorts the entire room into valuables, books, furniture, etc. He also has found a few luggage trunks with family names, so he finds students with the same surname, and gives them their family belongings.

At one point, he finds the diadem, and can just feel ickiness with it, so he has the elves get Snape and Flitwick to examine it.

Umbridge appears with them, and demands to know what is going on. She tries to get Harry expelled for theft, but he argues that he was A.) Given permission from the elves, B.) Returned property to rightful owners whenever possible, and C.) Used any money made to better Hogwarts (like, any money found or jewelry sold was used to pay for new brooms, I think.)

That's all I can remember from it, but I am pretty sure there was quite a bit to the story.

Hi, I recently re-remembered this fic from when I was a teenager (published at least before 2022), its a Harry harem fic, starting out with Harry and Hermione. I distinctly remember them getting it on in the middle of the library under the invisibility cloak, know that's kinda a popular trope so maybe not so much of a help. The main part of this fic that stuck with me was this plotline which is Harry x Trelawney which was partially for the purpose of Harry taking some of her pubic hair for a potion. Quite memorable if i do say so myself. It was decently sized, pretty sure >10 chapters. Thats the general extent of my memory, I am pretty sure Luna was a part of this harem but I can't be sure. I've searched for it myself a bit but have had no luck so hopefully y'all can provide some assistance. Thank you!

One fandom that I feel would mix with Harry Potter incredibly well is Destiny, mainly because both of their power systems are paracausal in nature, they work independent of science.

Maybe wizards inherently possess stronger conection with Light and Dark, making magic a perfect blend of those powers, maybe they are like the Ahamkara, wish dragons that impose their will onto reality. Maybe the Awoken, caught in the clash between Light and Dark, were actually a wizard colony ship, and they spent many millenia in Distributary, their pocket dimension, crafting their perfect world but now they are ready to come out and spread their empire across the universe.

For more Harry Potter centric fics, Darkness would be a perfect fit for dark magic, voices in the dark whispering to wizards of greater power, iff only they dare take it.

Lord Voldemort is a shoe in for Hive magic centered around dark rituals, sacrifices, pain and domination. Maybe he made a deal with a Worm god and now every life he takes gives him power. Instead of making horcruxes he had made a throne world, becoming immortal in the outer world and only by breaching into it and dealing with him there could he finally be killed.

This was a longer post, but these are two of my favourite fandoms and yeah, a man can dream.

Also Mara Sov/Harry ftw, I'm off to re-read Paracausality, Balance chapters for the hundredth time.
