Discussion Best pre-Friends role?
I had no idea Lisa kudrow was on cheers, and Matthew Perry was on 902.0, but they both did pretty good from the small clips that I’ve seen. Aniston was on quantum leap too.

I love their banter, even before they get together, cause it just feels really natural to me. I’ve definitely had this kind of conversation before, and it just feels very real.

When Ross was getting the annulment from Rachel, he had said he got it taken care of, but he lied.
When he actually goes to his divorce lawyer, he doesn't want to tell Rachel or something. I know Im reading too far into this, but how difficult would it have been to tell Rachel he needs her to sign some things?
Like, "Hey, I need you here to sign some stuff so we can get it official." IDK, just bothered me.

So I have watched Friends on repeat for decades! It’s my always in the background show, not diss similiar to thousands of others.
So imagine my surprise when I finally noticed something new. Rachel and her sister are arguing about the fact that she pierced Emma’s ears and Rachel said something along the lines of “you don’t even care about Emily” and Ross calmly says “Emma”.
Totally paraphrasing Rachel’s line because I was shocked at how hilarious that was and that I had never noticed it!

Rewatching the show for the millionth time (and first time as a Reddit user!)
Rachel is incredibly unlikeable in this episode, to the point it borders on freaking gross how much she wants to go in-between Ross and Emily. However, why is it the thing that is bothering me the most being that the fashion-forward person of the show, took a giant ass bag from New York to London and didn’t think to pack a freaking presentable outfit for the wedding of one of her best friends? She is so gross.

One that comes to mine for me is this one, where Rachel has sold her hairless cat to Gunther and Monica mistakes a raw chicken for it. It’s a funny joke, but ultimately very unrealistic that Rachel would have been defrosting a chicken…there are many other jokes throughout the series of Rachel either being a terrible cook or not cooking at all (in the episode where Ross and Rachel lock themselves out of their apartment and Emma is inside, Rachel is wondering if she left the stove on and Ross says something like “you haven’t cooked since 1995”).
Another is Monica’s messy hall closet, while funny it just feels outside of the realm of possibility.
Any other out of character moments used for a setup?

I know people say season one is prime, and I kind of agree, but the season three looks really look really nice too. Underrated big time

An example is during Season 9 and episode 15 when Ross and Phoebe are getting mugged and Ross says “I knew you be my death Phoebe Buffay. “
Does not have to be their actual correct name can include there alias.

I don’t know what it is, but I love the 90s oversized suit style so much, I rarely wear formal wear, but when I do see it, I hate the akin tight European cuts that so many people wear now

Every time I started a rerun, I always began from s4 finale or s5 premiere because I love Monica and Chandler so much.
It's really hard to see a relationship like this on screen. They don't have dramatic on-and-off. It's not a prince charming history. It's not "you have to overcome all the difficulties to get your Mr. Right" type of relationship. As in Monica's words "I think that we fell in love and we work hard at our relationship. Some days we work really hard. "
Their relationship is so real, to a level that you cannot believe this is a "sit-com" romance. Yes they have a dramatic beginning, but I suppose a lot of relationships have a kinda dramatic beginning. And they tried, they were very careful, they cared until they were sure about each other.
Also, when you think about these two characters, they have almost opposite traits. Chandler is afraid of commitment because his parents divorced, but his parents still love him very much, and he didn't need to compete for his parents' love because he is the only child. On the other hand, Monica's parents have a passionate and stable relationship for decades, which makes Monica crazy about marriage and babies. But her parents favor Ross, her mom downgraded her, so she had to compete for everything in her life, and she got OCD. Monica gave out her unconditional love to Chandler and always supported him, so Chandler felt safe to commit, he felt safe to say I love you. And Chandler is willing to change for Monica's OCD and lose to her. They are perfect for each other. You wouldn't realize that until you look back at their relationship. Even before London, they just fit, you know they can stay.
And looking back to S1-4, I feel like they are always in a situationship. They flirt, they cuddle, they hold hands, they comfort each other, they seek safety toward each other, they share secrets, they share everything. They are always there for each other.
Words fail me, I don't have enough words to describe how much I love Mondler. They are just so good, so romantic, so sweet.

Image is there because I'm kinda asking it how Janice asks the while "who of the six of you" line, which is one of my favourite janice moments because of the way she asks it.
But yeah, which friend do you feel grew the most and who grew the least as a person?

Let me be clear that I'm not against Susan as a character, nor do I condone Ross's jealous and insecure behaviour in the show. However, I feel that Carol was unnecessarily harsh and a bit demeaning when it came to Carol being pregnant with Ben and how Ross was doing his best to feel included in that whole process of being a single father. He was genuinely trying his hardest to find a way to make sure that he does his part as a first-time father while Susan was constantly going out of her way to throw shade at him for no reason and trying to reduce his contributions to this pregnancy situation.
Given the tension between both of them, it felt all the more impactful and emotional when it was Ross of all people who convinced Carol to go through with her wedding to Susan and also had his moment when he danced with Susan after they got married. That being said, I do feel Susan was quite harsh and critical towards Ross in the first season.
Let me know your thoughts and views on this and whether you think this is a fair observation.

Continuing the series, which of the Gellers did Chandler like more before him and Monica got together? Him and Ross were college roommates, right, but he also had a pretty deep connection with Monica, so who would you say we’re closer?

I can watch Chandler and Monica fell in love and got married over and over again and again. These moments are just so sweet, they are just perfect for each other.
And it's just my opinion, but I think Ross and Rachel had more chemistry when they weren't a couple, especially after they broke up. It always gave me kind of a "Before Sunset" vibe.(I know it's a 22-year-old movie, but I will cap it Jesse and Celine met again in Paris in 9 years after they first met in Vienna in "Before Sunrise", and Jesse was married, Celine also got a boyfriend. They are both not sure how the other one feels and if they still had feelings, so they kept testing the water and they are so afraid to confess.)
Like the time when Ross couldn't find Emily, and Rachel told him she still loved him, and Ross just said"The thing is I am married." they suddenly realized something, but they just let it slip. And when they are getting divorced, Rachel said, "I did those things because I was in love with you." Ross replied "Yeah! Right! ... You're right. That's very different." and Rachel suddenly realized something.
Maybe it's just these moments that Rachel and Ross would still have chemistry.
What do you think is the sweetest moment of the show?

Found this really old clip of Cox’s first episode doing family ties, it’s kind of funny how she was nervous about the audience reactions, but when she went out to do friends, she got like 10 years of experience with it so that’s kind of cool

Okay, so Joey is introduced as this handsome man with great body, great style and smooth talk. I do understand that the styles have evolved throughout the show (although I still can't forgive the stylist for the haircuts between S1 and S2) and it was also obvious that the actors have changed. Matt Leblanc put on some weight and he also requested for his character to be rather lovable and not a playboy.
However I cannot wrap my head around the fact that all of a sudden he started wearing these ugly oversize shirts. I'm currently watching the episode where Monica is mourning her relationship with Richard and Joey's style is so off. Monica is the one who should look depressed, however Joey looks like he hasn't showered in days and has just put on some old shirts in every scene he's in. (Matt looks awesome and still has a very good physique)
I mean for the love of God, this guy was wearing slim fit t-shirts and leather jackets in season one, so what the heck has happened here?

(When Ross and Rachel come back from the pediatrician and are talking to Monica and Chandler)
It looks like two babies in the stroller?
Or is it just a baby and a blanket?
I know they used twins for Emma so maybe they were both in the stroller.

We all have seen this classic scene where Joey talks about how Carol got the furniture, the stereo, and the good TV while Ross just got screwed and it’s played for laughs, but looking at how divorce actually works, Ross got completely screwed.
We all know divorce is messy and rarely end on good terms, and statistically women tend to get ownership of the house and larger share of assets.
But in Ross situation Carol was the one that cheated and left Ross for another women (Susan), and I know legally infidelity has zero impact on on division of marital properties but for Ross to get absolutely nothing and simply a can of beer that remind him of Carol and having walked away with nothing feels like a massive failure from his lawyers part, especially considering the fact that the lawyer he has is also the one that was with Ross for his next two if his divorces, so why would he go back to the same lawyer ?
What are your thoughts ?
