Help with painting wall

Post image

I have prepared this wall using stuccocret, it is sanded and finished. I am not entirely sure about how to proceed with painting because of the 2 tones.

I have already patch tested the paint ( a darker green ) on the green part of the wall and it looks great. My plan was to tape around the door etc, paint with white on the tape so that the green wont bleed, prime the entire wall with a grey (?) primer, and then apply 2 layers of the green paint.

I am not sure if this is the correct way to proceed though.

Any help appreciated.

Prime first. Paint second. Paint third. Use a roller.

that grey primer is just extra work for nothing, the white patches will cover fine with 2 coats of the green if the paint is half decent

You know what I will patch test the paint on a spot that covers both green and white to test this. I hope you're right

I would start by doing a swatch of the new paint across both colors, do two coats and let it dry then see if you can even tell a difference. Can help to put brown paper around the swatch to isolate it and make it harder to see where the line is (you can cut up paper bags for this).

Prime everything, 2 coats of paint. Even with paint/primer, a fresh patch should always be primed.

You missed a spot on the right there.

Welp, tried to patch test it as is, no primer, looks terrible lol. I also tried to prime a spot (both white and green) using a leftover translucent primer, still doesnt look great. If anyone knows if the grey primer will make a difference let me know

I don't know, but I've got a sudden urge to play chess.

Those nail holes are going through that mud, also at the bottom it’s wavy and that will show also.

Not sure what you mean about the nail holes. The whole wall is wavy by default lol. I have patched some stuff on the bottom etc since the pic was taken but cba to put more effort because I will need to do it again in a few years, it's really humid here.
