What is it?
Why don’t we all take a breath from the extreme societal issues, and remember that if you fart on wood, like a door perhaps, it will sound louder. You’re welcome. Why does this happen though????

Battery operated toy phone turns on when I turn the light off
I have a Halloween decoration; a battery operated toy phone which rings and says creepy things when you pick it up.
Oddly, whenever I flip the light switch off in the room where the phone’s located, it activates the phone — it rings and talks the same way it does when you pick it up.
It happens every time I turn the light switch off, but never when I turn the switch on (or for any other reason).
Can someone explain this?
Thanks!

Request How does this doorknob unlock from the outside?
My nephew locked it from the inside and closed the door. I tried sliding a long tool into the hole on the side to pop the button lock on the inside, but it is not working. There aren’t any screws on the outside that I could use to disassemble it. I thought maybe the divot on the neck of the knob meant I could pop the knob off and go from there, but I can’t get enough leverage to separate it.

Request Detachable bit on my keyboard with the model and brand on it, wondering if it actually has a use or is just there
2.4Ghz dongle compartment is on the back of the board in another area, too small to fit anything inside, even wires but it HAS to be there for a reason since it's explicitly advertised on the box

Request How do I use this piñata card
I found an old Hallmark greeting card I was to use. It’s piñata shaped and had a plastic bag of sequins inside. It’s glued to one side and has perforations on either side. My understanding is that the receiver would open it and the sequins would burst open somehow. There doesn’t seem to be anything that would trigger it. I’m not sure if I am meant to tear open the bag and have them loose. But they would just fall out into the envelope. Is there a missing piece or some way that it works? Ai says patent is just for the shaped cards rather than the mechanism. There doesn’t seem to be similar items sold online from my searches.

Is this novelty protractor junk?
Purchased on a whim from Itoya because it’s cute. The only way I can imagine it working is to align the 0 and 90 points to your line and find the angles with the interior points. That’s what I did in the second image (pencil is known good, red pen is the fish) and clearly that doesn’t work. Also, what’s up with the big eye? D7/D10? The lines in the body?

How does an orange juicer change direction seemingly at random?
I needed to fix this orange juicer, so while I had it open I set out to answer a question that had been bugging me for years. Every time I press down on the juicer, the direction changes seemingly at random. Randomness isn't something that just happens in electronic circuits, so I found the answer.
It's a Braun MPZ-6, first released onto the market in 1992 and you can still buy it brand new today. I added some more info on my blog: https://elvinhome.io/blog/articles-3/how-does-this-timeless-orange-juicer-from-1992-actually-work-29
