Podcast?
I mean, isn't Stern's show really just a fucking podcast nowadays. What's different between him and any other podcast I can listen to on Sirius or whatever platform?? nothing

Seems obvious that he is missed. Bring him back and give him more to do on air. You dont necessarily need to fire anyone but change some roles.

Or will he back out like Benny and Gal? It’s hard to believe they haven’t been able to get one guest since the HBO Max deal.

Benji is/was a nut job and was generally not great on air (especially in the era where Howard would try to include him/ask him something and he could barely get out a thought before HS jumped all over him...maybe his schtick, maybe just the way he is).
BUT
Benji probably wrote 75%+ of the laugh out loud lines Howard said the last 20ish years. That's where he is missed. Howard knows (or used to) how to run a show, how to host, how to move things along, how to orchestrate and include the wack pack and staff, but he is not necessarily a 'funny' guy. He is 'funny' because he is/was miserable, vindictive, stirred the pot, etc. It's why he sucks on talk shows or when he is getting interviewed...it is just him up there.
Insert Chris (and Sam, etc) with an open mic. HS probably realized they need another 'comedic' voice, someone who is 'quick' and will insert themselves. Otherwise, it is just HS and RQ's voices, which are just so out of touch at this point and rarely intentionally LOL funny. Chris doesn't fit that role; he is just the biggest ass kisser who does the most impressions. Obviously, Artie was the best at that role. Knew when to be quiet, knew when to chime in, generally always himself/funny. Chris is a puppet/mimic with fake laughter, never disagrees with boff, etc.
In essence, they fired/have the wrong guy(s) for the current format.
Also, don't blame them for firing Benji. For years it sounded like he did little to expand his role, didn't attend pre-show meetings, generally was lazy...but I think his 'voice' is missed.

Recently, I was listening to the Eric the Actor quiz episode where Sal screws up the questions and figured I'd make a quiz for all of you psychos like me who can't get enough Eric. Hope it helps distract you from work for a few minutes.

It was a little jarring seeing Richard’s dong on HBO Max. Haven’t seen that thing since Howard TV

I literally can’t listen for more than the intro I need to change the channel. Who the fck tells him this is funny and he should keep doing it. It may be just as bad as the fake Joan rivers / fake Wendy bit. Simply unlistenable. I have never even cracked a smile when listening to sternac

he makes his wealth doing all these antics that he now talks about being above and regretting. sorry Howard regret means if you had it back to do again you wouldn't. so get off your high horse. everyone knows, you wouldn't go back and not do all the things that brought you your fame and wealth. if you really regret how you made all that money then donate it all away.
him and Jimmy kimmel who wants to pretend the man show isnt what got him to where he is today are sad little men.

Ten posts a day about how annoying Wilding is. Guitar talk. Basement. Beth. Howard wig. Robin wig. HBO. Andy Cone. Kimble. Legacy ruined. Retire already. Canceled my sub. I've said it all.

Wendy was at her best when she was young, horny and often drunk. The studio's delight in having her unique personality on the air makes for a great segment. As a bonus we get Wendy's hurricane "scream" played at the very end.

Maybe I’m late to the party, but has anybody else seen this?
It’s the second part of the hbo documentary and they’re talking about Billy and the relationship he has with his dad that left him when he was a kid, and who pops up with a couple sound clips to talk about it, Therapist Howie
“ there are certain traumas, one never gets over“
”I think his drive comes from wanting to know his father through his music”
I kid you not and find this hilarious.
