Advice/Question Repurposing question.

Post image

Has anyone ever repurposed their old hard back covers? I'm extremely picky and I love the one attached, but I know I won't use the guts of it. So I was curious to know if anyone has successfully repurposed their binded covers.

I've been digging around over the last few days for videos and posts but I'm not seeing anything that actually shows how someone may have gutted an old hardback to repurpose.

Not for Hobonichi, but I have done this with loads of notebooks. It’s simple enough. Cut the old notebook out with a cutter and glue a new one in without its cover.

I saw a video where they used some kind of paper glue and I feel like I could get a few years worth of use out of it if I did that right but I wasn't sure if it would leave the spine exposed once I cut out the guts and how I'd protect it before glueing something else in. I haven't seen anything that shows if the white cover on the flaps extends over the inside of the spine too.

I fell down the rabbit hole of book binding while looking to make more cost effective high quality watercolour books. Take a look at some tutorials on YouTube and it should explain the details, especially if you have some new guys ready to go!
