Hey everyone! I’m Katsuhito a 24 year old webnovel writer from Greece. I’ve been writing for a few years now, mostly on Honeyfeed, and was fortunate enough to become a finalist in the MAL x KADOKAWA Isekai writing contest.
Recently, I decided to try Royal Road for the first time with Re:Kensei – Reborn in a World That Abandoned Swordsmanship, a story that basically combines all my favorite guilty pleasures from classic fantasy and isekai light novels.
It’s an academy progression fantasy with sword fights, magic, rivalries, comedy, and a developing harem romance. I wanted to give just as much attention to the characters and the relationships they build as I do to the action and progression.
The protagonist, Enzo, is a former kendo prodigy reincarnated into a world where swordsmanship is considered obsolete. He receives the supposedly useless Swordsman class, which, much to everyone’s confusion, he’s absolutely thrilled about.
He’s also very much his own person: confident, proactive, occasionally cocky, and definitely not a passive self-insert who just stands around while everything happens to him.
The story is still in its first volume, with new chapters releasing daily. I’ve been having a blast writing it, so I figured I’d share it here!

Would this flow throw you off from reading the story? is 1 FMC needed to entertain in the first book? Is 2+ needed in the first book? If a book goes by without a FMC being added is that a deal breaker?

So I’ve read only two books through Kindle, unlimited by Robin Bee Rehnna and Tomb divers I’m just starting tomb divers 2. And I have to say, I absolutely love his books mostly the world building and the characters. I love the whole Egyptian mythos world building of Tomb divers. My favorite character is Kur the priest of the laughing God, which I think it’s just a funny, great mythos that is so at Home for a D&D RPG campaign.

Which, if I’m going to be honest, I plan on making a character based off it for my next gaming session with my friends.

Tomb divers specifically think it would be a great book even without the eroticism. Don’t give me wrong those parts were great but I think even as like just a fantasy novel, it would be just as good. Also, it taught a very important life lesson in one of the scenes don’t interrupt a “hungry” matriarch. The depth of the characters are really good. They’re not one dimensional characters that I have seen. They have hidden trauma and pain and motivations and desires, and it’s refreshing.

Both books are a slow burn. It’s not a lot of intimacy. It’s one or two scenes with a lot of attention, buildup of trust and emotional building. I recommend both books good reads I couldn’t put down.

I keep seeing these three come up on peoples lists and the i know all 3 are on my wishlist somewhere in no actual order which of these 3 should I start in all of your opinions

Not a fan of the modern everyman/loser getting transported/reincarnated into whatever new and interesting world trope.
I’m more interested in reading about MC’s that are actually native to the setting of the story.

New to the genre and just binged the first 5 books of Ard’s Oath. Starting to think this series wasn’t meant to be consumed all at once because the 307th nose joke did NOT hit as hard as the 306th. 😂

Need a palate cleanser before jumping back in. Bruce has a shit ton of series, so what should I read next?

I’ve heard good things about Dungeon* *Diving, but I want to save the best for last. Is that the move, or is there another series I should prioritize?

I love some of the stuff where the MC helps and saves some of the girls but i kind of want to try a series or two where it's the MC who gets helped, supported or even saved by the various LI's. Any recommendations welcome for the weird request.

Looking for something that I guess is on the more serious side, mostly out of curiosity if there are books in the space that get on the heavier side of life and relationships. Closest example I can think of is: many protagonists in the genre are orphans out of convenience to the plot (they’re a loner with no one to leave behind, etc.) but Warlock is one that actually delves into how that impacts him and his life, as well as how the women in his life comfort and treat him surrounding this heavy issue. That’s just an example but basically I’m looking for that realness of life being put into the mix. Maybe I’m crazy, I know this is a genre full of fantasy fulfillment so it might be the wrong place for a book like that, but like I said I’m mostly just curious if it exists or not. Am I the only one interested in books here going in that direction or is there actually some demand for it?

I made a tier list before, I put the love the bombshells in F tier, That was a first time making tier list I did not know what it means putting it in F tier, cause I have seen people not only in this thread, in litrpg thread also putting books I have binge read in F tier. I just thought it was books you didn't like or shelved. I never thought it will make him look bad.

Once again I apologize for it, I started reading the book again after people pointed it out, it did not deserve to be in F.

I just hope it did not damage his image as I deleted the thread.
