Give me a reason

I'm an industrial mechanic. So plenty of tools at home and work. I can't think of a single reason I would need these screwdrivers, but I love them and wish HF had a more practical set with these handles. Anybody got a good reason I need them but don't know it, yet?

Been knocking out projects left and right and hf has helped with all of them. The biggest was a full bathroom remodel. New plumbing, shower, surround, drywall, new toilet, lighting, faucet, and all the side hardware. I also used Hercules scratch padsn and McGraw air compressor to spray in my truck bed liner. This morning fixed our A/C that died 2 days ago (new capacitor and connector) used the powered rachet and icon sockets Hercules battery lamp to see in the dark and got her up an running! 2 days ago I also flushed the water heater and our bacment drain got clogged so used the Bauer battery drain snake to clear it out also cleaned the pipe so the float doesnt get stuck. Did some work to my wife's car and did both our oil changes last weekend. Been a busy month or so but power through it and am at the finish linešŸ’Ŗ Just got to deep clean the bathroom, clean the grout after its fully dried, and finally relax.

Needed a new 3/8 ratchet and I’ve know that these have been a thing for a while now but it never dawned on me to grab one but I fully intend to use this like any other ratchet. I spent close to 800$ at harbor freight today. I picked up this and a bunch of other shit I probably won’t use but isn’t that what we all do? Oh and renewed my membership….

Thank god for HF šŸ¤™šŸ»

In case you didn't see this on the other sub.....matching sockets for your Icon Golden Ratchets ...

Come on Harbor Freight... You're slacking not coming up with this first.

I already asked my GF to buy me a set as a Christmas stocking stuffer.

So now when you lose a 10mm, you can REALLY REALLY feel bad not only did you lose a 10mm socket, you lost a golden 10 mm socket....

Makes a good gift... These polish much shinier than the Chrome sockets we buy to proudly display in a tool box that we never use along with the golden ratchets that will never get used.

Husky Wood Top Mod for US General Series 3 56ā€ Roll Cab Tool Box

Here is my humble setup I’ve been working on since the Series 3 line was released. I have two 56ā€ roll cab boxes, two cabinet lockers, and one 56ā€ hutch.

I purchased this Husky 56 in. W x 23 in. D x 1.25 in. H Solid Wood Work Surface for Heavy Duty Welded Steel Garage Storage System

I borrowed inspiration from this Redditor. I used an oscillating tool to make relief cuts for the locker hanging tabs. I used a circular saw to cut about 1 inch of depth from the wood top so it would nest on the top of the box. The metal lip/edge of the toolbox was shipped slightly bent inward, so I used piece of wood and a hammer to straighten the edge. I left the rubber mat underneath the wood. No fasteners used. Sits perfect with no shifting.

Custom jewelry box

Sanded the Yukon box down, repainted it and added felt liner to the bottom of all the drawers.

Girlfriend was telling me she wished she had a jewelry box and I figured this could make a pretty decent one for around $120 all in including the dividers for the drawers. Top normally has photos with magenta but I didn’t want them blasted online.

She loves it and I figured it might help one of you looking for an idea for your SO.

Is it possible to kill a composite ratchet? It's been my redneck impact for tight spaces and refuses to die. Still really smooth after I oiled it.

HF Lifetime Warranty Nonsense

I have purchased thousands of dollars of HF hand tools over the years from Pittsburgh to Icon, mainly for the "ease" of a lifetime warranty that is often compared to Sears/Craftsman's warranty back in the day. I have had to warranty a few HF tools over the years and have never had a problem before yesterday. I broke a long Pittsburgh combo wrench I purchased 6-7 years ago. I brought in the broken wrench and was denied my warranty claim because I did not have the full set of combo wrenches with me. I was told by two different HF employees at my local store that they changed their policy where the customer now has to bring in a complete set of hand tools if they need to warranty just one piece from that set. My box is highly organized, and it will be a pain in the ass to pack up 72 sockets, etc. to just have one tool replaced under warranty, not to mention you are screwed if you ever lose anything from the set. Plenty of other companies out there that do not play these silly games. Rant over.

Too many part time hours??

I have worked part time there for over 6 years. The employee turn around rate is horrible. Management sucks. Anway, for the next 9 days, they only gave me one day off. I think they're upset because I called out last time and they're being petty. I need to speak to the manager. But, I'm so annoyed.

My last post didn’t go so hot with you guys.

I’m a contractor, homeowner and do all the work on our vehicles. This is just a few of my drawers without all my mobile tools that are in my Bauer rolling box stack. What do you guys think of the set up?

5 drawer cart rotating casters

Hello,

I would like to replace the two fixed casters with rotating casters, but I can't seem to find any that are the same size and all black. I was wondering if anyone had a source that would fit without the need for any additional drilling.

Outdoor tools

My battery platforms are Milwaukee(drill, driver, circ, recip, etc) and Hercules (impacts, lights, more for car) Im wondering if harbor freight has an outdoor platform worth getting into, battery powered weed whacker, or limb saw, anything along those lines. Any issues, was also considering ego, ryobi, seen a brand called greenworks.

5 drawer rolling cart return questions.

Picked up a rolling 5 drawer cart during the pls. Are they still able to be returned after people and assembling? After assembling and stocking it Ive realized green just isn’t my color. When returning these is it best to just bring the assembled box back to the store I purchased from? Also if anyone in the Denver area has a different color besides green and is interested in trading let me know!
