Is there still a way to create Single class characters?

No matter if I use this one or the carto made easy, I get this problem when in some instances. I use texmod.

Any idea how I can fix it?

So I've been logging on every morning and doing some presearing Huntsman gift farming. Finally got 1K gifts! Going to transfer them to my main character soon but I wanted to share this small nearly pointless accomplishment. Was fun drinking coffee and doing simple mindless grind every morning lol

I remember playing this game about 20 years ago and having an amazing time with it. Started with Factions. The game ambience, its style and distinctive gameplay really fascinated me compared to other popular MMOs at the time.
A few days ago I discovered the Reforged version and tried it on my Steamdeck. Many things were forgotten but everything had so much nostalgia, the music, the visuals, the sound effects. It really has a calming effect on me, like a time capsule of sort.
I am so glad that I started again, although I lost my old account. Somehow starting fresh is even better, I get to experience again all that captivated 20 years younger me. Now with a wife and kid, I couldn’t be happier to delve back into this game (when I get the opportunity).
What a truly fantastic game, I just love it.

Does anyone know exactly how to SaO jump from Arbor Bay to Riven Earth without triggering the portal? Apparently according to the new cartographer mod I am missing one tile and the instruction says "Mapped by SaO chain portal jump from Arbor Bay to Riven Earth" as an alternative to Zinn's Trial (which I completed since I thought I uncovered everything already).

Tried for over an hour going in every direction to no avail.

Hey, everyone! I recently returned to the game after over a decade and decided to finally achieve the GWAMM title. I used to play too many characters, so my progression was always fragmented. I earned Legendary Defender of Ascalon on a new Mesmer and just recently finished the three campaigns on normal, with bonuses.

Now that I'm in Eye of the North and Hard Mode content, I've noticed that I am rarely retaining lockpicks, and they're expensive. I am only rank two in Treasure Hunter and Lucky, so I think it's a 19% chance or something to keep each lockpick in HM for now. I was able to buy some lockpicks from a Faction vendor.

For those of you with more experience: are lockpicks still worth it to use? Since I've only just returned and don't have coin, is there a way I could possibly farm them instead of buy them? I know these account-wide titles aren't required, but opening chests while questing or vanquishing is fun, so I would like to make it work if I can.

Also, I bought the infinite identification and salvage kits; I have been salvaging everything except wood items and selling the materials once I get a stack. Should I swap to only salvaging valuable runes/insignias and selling the rest? This could be why I am broke, lol.

Finally scraped and scrounged my way to 900k experience and went to hand in my storybook, but it won't let me turn in the normal one. Weirdly, the hard mode ones went through fine, so I know I'm in the right place and doing it the right way. Am I missing a step or a requirement for the normal version?

I'm really interested in trying Guild Wars Reforged out, having never played GW1 back in the day. I primarily play things on Steam though and I'd like to continue with that - so I'm hoping I can "trial" the game on my Retroid Pocket 6 for a bit (Android-based), and if I end up liking the game... then I would purchase it on Steam and use that account as my "main" account... so I'd like to wipe my trial character and link my Steam account character instead.

Is this doable?

When Reforged launched I played it up to about level 7, with no problems, but I've come back to play again but now I'm having some rough technical problems.

It started with freezing and sluggishness ever new page of character creation, and now that I finally have a character created, the game freezes whenever I try to open a menu.

Any chance someone knows what the issue is and knows a solution?

How’s it going everybody, never tried guild wars back in the day as I was a die hard RuneScape player, found reforge in the App Store and a buddy of mine at work are trying it out/thinking about starting a work clan. Any tips for a new player? All advice is welcome

Been playing since I was like 14, and reforged + updates are amazing to see.

I am playing an Ele Melandru's + Dhuum's + Reforged + aiming for LDoA (have done LDoA like 4-5 time already, some deathless, some for the hell of it).

What is worth keeping for Melandru's?

I figured spider webs for silk and charr hides/worn belts for bolts of cloth and THS or similar mats, but I also recall there being a few easy farming locations for things like this in Post.

What exactly is worth keeping for mats? Also heard that its better to keep them in their initial format because you can ultimately get more out of a stack of for instance, charr hides VS a stack of THS.

Nobody likes kamadan and you have an amazing skybox to flex for screenshots (second screen from halloween 2008). Plus Tomb of the primeval kings is peak nostalgia meeting spot.

Quick question about Mercenary Heroes: since you apparently keep those Mercenary Heroes after character deletion, how are the names handled? Are they freed up to take by other players / other accounts or are the names bound to an account until both character and mercenary hero are deleted?

I came back to the game just today. Installed toolbox an vanquished a few areas. Chilled a bit in Kanada and joined a huge alliance. What are some nice and fun activities you do each day? I’m working on a Gwamm since nearly 20 years now :) maybe someday.

My character is a warrior, and all I do with elementalist secondary is drop a Fire Storm when I am surrounded. I focus my attribute points on my weapon first, then strength, and if I have leftover points into fire magic.

It doesn't do much damage since it is my lowest attribute, but I figured it is better than nothing.

Is the vendor for these bugged or something? Ive been checking the trader the last few days and haven't seen one in stock yet.

After 200 BECs used, over 50 hours spent exploring, and dozens of new tiles discovered (some without BEC!), my cartography research over the past two months concludes with a completely new cartography Texmod. This is not based on CME and actually quite different.

DOWNLOAD THE TEXMOD (~67 MiB as of writing this, .tpf file compatible with Texmod, uMod, gMod/GWToolbox++; this is currently in beta)

How do use: Walk to any tile that has at least partial fog (blue) but no solid black parts (not even half). If using BEC, you can stand 2 more tiles away (unless the tile is circled in red, or yellow/green with no purple dashes). Diagonal steps count as 1 step for BEC range. See color key and more usage hints.

Note: Continents are slightly different for feedback on different styles (see below). This post's title image is just the mod (without GWToolbox++), allowing you to use all my research results even if you don't like GWToolbox++.

What does this mod change compared to CME (Cartography Made Easy)?

• More detailed instructions for glitches, jumps and cinematics, e.g.
  • More accurate description of Kodonur and Pogahn cinematic exploration
  • Marketplace portal jump doesn't need SaO
  • Which cinematic does what in Factions PvP outposts
  • That you need to portal-jump into Vasburg Armory from both exits for maximum exploration (or use BEC in both bordering areas)

As you can see, my mod is quite different from CME and probably not everyone will like it. CME is totally fine. This is simply an alternative approach.

Please provide feedback on the mod, especially on these topics:

• Do you think its approach (showing you where to go) is useful?
• Do you find the outlines of walkable terrain (only available in Pre-Searing, Cantha and Elona) useful and should they be added for Tyria as well? Do you prefer the version with 100% opacity (Elona) or 70% opacity (Cantha)? The final version would definitely be available in an additional variant with neither grid nor walkable terrain, since many will prefer to use the corresponding features from GWToolbox++ but still use the mod for the annotations.
• Do you think the upscale (used in Cantha and Battle Isles) is useful? It provides thinner grid lines, but uses a lot more memory. If you think it's useful, do you prefer the nearest-neighbor upscale (Battle Isles) or Lanzcos upscale (Cantha)?
• Should I re-add portals in Pre? I have a dump of the Pre map back when it had portals. I guess someone at ANet didn't like "Thinking With Portals" when they removed them in January.
• I could make this open source. It has a very simple build process thanks to the Slice feature in Affinity (freeware graphics suite). Anyone interested in contributing?
• Any ideas for a name? I considered Cartography Recharted, to get this in line with Guild Wars Reforged (and paw·ned² rebuilt).

General question (call for data):

• If you have mapped Prophecies arenas, the Sunspear Arena or any (unexpected) other tiles not yet covered by my mod, please post screenshots. Note that BEC exploration before August 26th will not be featured.
• Anyone else tried moving during The Wilds end cinematic to uncover the death teleport area after teleport skills were removed (without BEC!)? I wasn't able to map it yet, but maybe someone else was?
• Who else has an explored square in the middle of nowhere Northwest of Istan? And who has any idea what it could be?

I spent a full two hours roaming the map, waiting for patrols to never show and had no red dots on map or names show when walking with ctrl pressed. Bar showed full at 222. I'm lost at this point.

Do certain mods only drop in certain campaigns or can they all drop anywhere? I know it's faster to buy from players, I'm just curious.

If I am using an axe, is there any reason to NOT equip a shield? Or is it always better to have one?

26/34 areas vanquished without major issues and I’m getting dogged on in the sulfurous wastes. Not even in the worm forms, the first pack of enemies destroys me. I’m running mesmerway, geared except for major vigor runes. What do I do?
