Wondering if I make this game (Prophecies) harder than it needs to be.
Hey everyone,
I never played the original GW that much, so I decided to jump back in and try it out again.
I continued playing with my ranger/warrior from years ago, who is currently questing in post-searing Ascalon and surroundings (Piken Square, Diessa Lowlands etc) and just reached lvl 11.
I use henchmen, primarily the warrior, the healer and the elementalist, along with Melandru's stalker and sometimes my fire imp.
So far, the whole questing process is really tedious and takes a long time, which makes me wonder if I make this more frustrating than it needs to be.
A couple of questions:
I use axe/shield (ditched the bow) and have most of my points in axe mastery and beast mastery (around 5 each) and some in other specs (marksmanship only 1 so far).
I feel like my damage output is pretty low and due to using medium armor, my defense is also pretty bad. I typically don't like respeccing in RPG as it feels weird from a roleplay perspective, but it seems like my build is far from optimal.
Maybe I should bite the bullet and respecc or just put the next points in sth else. Since this is my "first" character, I'm not too keen on using a build, but I feel like it might be better for this game. What do you recommend?
I also tend to avoid fast travel due to roleplay reasons, but the areas between outposts seem pretty vast and full of enemies, which makes me wonder if I should use it more often.
Is this something most people do or is it "frowned upon"? Should I use moving speed skills instead?
Besides that, I have a hard time figuring out what to sell, what to salvage and overall what to do with my stuff. I'm low on inventory space and low on money.
I bought one of these items that upgrade a bag from 5 to 10, but even then my inventory is pretty full. I feel like I could make at least some money by selling stuff, but never know whether I should sell trophies for example or give them to collectors, which rarely seem to have the items I'm looking for. Also don't know which weapons to keep.
I'd really appreciate some help so I can make the experience a bit more enjoyable. Thanks!
TL,DR:
Should I respecc?
Should I use fast travel?
What to do with my inventory?
