Mammoth Thruster salesman here
Hello and welcome on my dilapidated parking lot while I, short, chubby moustache wearing man in oversized brown suit walk towards you between festive decorations to sell you the Mammoth Thruster.
See, the Thruster competes in spirit with the Mk2 and the Deluxo. A fully upgraded one costs just 3.4 million non-trade which makes it significantly cheaper than the others. The flying speed is the same as the Mk2.
With the money you save over a fully upgraded Deluxo you can buy yourself a sea sparrow on the side and still have money left.
The Thruster allows for passive mode, despite having weapons. Admittedly the 30 homing missiles are dog shit. Worse than a Buzzards. Perfectly capable to eliminate NPC helicopters and planes, but that's it. You're either too exposed or the tracking is too crappy. You are well protected agains bullets and even rockets from the back though.
This thing lands you in the tightest of spaces. Tighter than the Mk2 even. It has a learning curve to it but once mastered you will cheese every mission.
And then think about social effects. Fly a Mk2 and people despise you for your mere existence. Either trauma or ordinary jealousy. The Thruster evokes curiosity, and most people assume no hostility when one flies around. Top that with no respawn cooldown and the high flying speed and you have an excellent grinding tool for the money.
This thing is so small it spawns very close to you as a personal vehicle. Closer at least than a Deluxo. The Mk2 has MC benefits. Especially in free aim sessions this thing is hard to hit with bullets once moving. It has unlimited counter measures too.
JATO gets you started at a safe altitude while the Deluxo and Mk2 have a max 20 degree incline angle for flight. In an NPC firefight you'll figure out soon enough why this helps. Once out the hot zone, keep flying straight forward and you're better protected than both others. Near any missions end point NPC's despawn anyway.
If you want the least friction, get the Mk2, at the cost of increased hostility and cooldown.
If you want the most versatility, get the Deluxo at the cost of travel (and escape) time.
And if you want the least conflict, get the Thruster, at the cost of occasional finnicky controlling.
Less conflict adds up in time saved. You can Thruster yourself in places Vanilla Unicorn would deem too tight. Fully upgraded still cheaper than a base Toreador. Grinds business and escapes shitshows like a champ.
Do I have a sale? :p
