Hey there,
I know that I that I am not completely alone with preferring the reflective screen technology from the AGS 001 models...
Of course putting a bright screen with a better resolution in there makes total sense but I was wondering if there ever was a screen released which was also reflective...
A colored e-ink screen would be a dream but I feel like there is not enough interest for that..

Hello, just ordered an AGB IPS MAX for the GBA from HandHeldLegend as I was in the understanding that it’s the best available. I been flooded by bad reviews from the menu, screen tearing and everything inbetween .
Have these issues been resolved?

I bought it for like 2$ from the flea market and throw it away for like 2 months until i found a charger that’s more expensive than the device itself, i dont know if there is a mod that put the games in the device itself so if anyone knows please tell!

I have been modding iPods for about a year with success, so bit the bullet and ordered an original GBA to try my hand at modding one. What are your go to mods that won't break the bank? Backlit screen and I assume usbc charging are a must?
Any other advice, pointers or key watch outs when it comes to working on it would be great too!

I would really like to see a version of Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition GBA that retains all the modes from TE, but also incorporates the exclusive characters from Deadly Alliance GBA. Both games are from the same series/engine and the characters...

Build -
GBA 001 modded with IPS q5 screen and hispeedido shell.
usb c rechargeable battery.
Issue - pressure in this area causes sound to cut out, occasionally boots without sound, pressure here brings it back and takes it away.
Things I’ve tried - 3 different speakers, new speaker wires, kapton tape on back of screen and on board near speakers to stop any shorts
Update - after several disassemblies it literally just ended up being a dirty headphone jack. IPA cleanse and repeated headphone inserts fixed quickly

I was looking on Amazon and this was the only USB C mod they had it looks alright but its only 10$ and that made me feel somewhat suspicious of it, wanted to post it here so someone more knowledgeable on this could help!

Hi! I want to do my first mod on a GBA. I have been looking a bit into it now but I find myself quite confused on how and where to start. I live in Norway and dont seem to have access to the American providers for screens. In AliExpress I have found Hispeedido and FunnyPlaying selling kits of screens with shells. Also I don’t really know which type of screen I should go for, and their differences for that matter. I have no issues with having to sold the screen or some circuits. Also I have seen that it might actually be easier also to get a new shell rather than installing the screen in the old shell, what are your opinions on this? Finally the battery issue. The ips screens consume lots more energy so it runs through regular AA batteries quite fast. Any recomendations here? Looked into the usb c mod or getting the IKEA rechargeable batteries, how good and how long do these alternatives last in one charge more or less?
Thanks for any advice, tips and help :)

Firstly, I LOVE this thing. I beat the initial playthrough of MMBN4, and have started playing through Minish Cap. My thumb is getting very fatigued.
My initial press of the D Pad depresses the membrane, but causes no directional input. Pressing harder triggers a directional input, but is very taxing for long play sessions.
I've heard of the tape mod, the card cut mod, sanding of the post mod, loosening the mobo screws.
Should I try one at a time? Do a combination? Where should I start?
All advice and commentary is greatly appreciated!

Hello all!
I came upon a gba that someone left in terrible conditions for quite a while and have been digging around to see what I can fix. After a quick iso scrub if got it to the point that it:
The list of stuff that I think it needs are;
Does the community have any recommendations on where I should go through the effort to revive/renew? I have another working GBA-001 that I wouldn't mind building a "ultimate" console to match my refreshed GBASP with a EZ Omega. So if I got this other one working I'd likely try to bundle it with a bunch of games.
Thanks for your time!
