After visiting gay clubs in China, Korea and Japan, I noticed that most locals tend to be pretty reserved, they might stare at you but still do nothing. Not much dancing, making out or in general having a good time like in the west. They would book a table, drink in groups and call it a night pretty early, by 3:30 am the clubs are getting empty. Why is that?

I live in a mid-sized European city where there are not many gaysians on Grindr compared to bigger European cities.

I have noticed a pattern: a lot of (white and Latino) guys send me their pics and seem interested at first, but their replies are often pretty unenthusiastic. For example, they’ll say they want to meet but won’t share their address or make any effort to arrange something. It feels like they expect me to do all the chasing.

I kinda feel like many of them are just bored and chatting with an Asian guy (me) to pass the time with no real intention of meeting up.

It’s not like I’m specifically chasing white or Latino guys, but there just aren’t many other POC or gaysian options where I live.

Does anyone else experience this?
