Finally finished…? How much hate will the lights get?

I think I’m done for now. I’m considering a mini-split installation but I think I’ll wait and see. I did everything except the floor - it had been bothering me for 5 years when the previous owner did the worst possible DIY epoxy job and spilled paint everywhere.

Started about 3 months ago, including insulating the garage door, adding the lights, and throwing up a dart board. I had considered paneling the entire wall but went for speed and efficiency and I think it turned out great. I built a mirror frame to match with the leftover wood planks and a spare mirror that was laying around, although I still need to mount the mirror.

What are everyone’s thoughts? Anything I can put in for Calvin the dog? He helped the entire time and I think this is his favorite room in the house.

I want to upgrade my lights to can lights with the night light option so its not bright ad hell for watching fights. What do you guys think I should go. The ceiling will be finished (drywall) should I go with 9 6in cands for 12 4in cans? Thoughts?

Having my garage finished, worth an extra 2k to get it vaulted?

Phase 3 of My 50’ x 65’ RV Garage Build. Time for a Mezzanine, Man Cave, and Workshop!

I’m getting ready to start Phase 3 of my 50’ x 65’ RV garage build and thought I’d share what I’m planning.
I’ve been using the garage for about four years now, and one of the biggest advantages of waiting to finish everything is that I’ve learned exactly how I use the space, and just as importantly, how I don’t!

Rather than building everything out from day one, I’ve had time to figure out what works, what doesn’t, and what would make the space more functional.

Phase 3 (Last photo is the concept) will focus on adding a 50’ x 20’ mezzanine across the back of the garage, creating approximately 1,000 square feet of additional usable space.
Here’s the current plan:

Downstairs:
Dedicated 3D printing workshop with glass storefront doors
Hexagon LED ceiling lighting in the print shop
Organized storage with heavy-duty shelving
Central staircase to the mezzanine
Plenty of open floor space for the RV and vehicles
Epoxy floors throughout

Upstairs:
Home brewing area with stainless brewing equipment
Kitchenette and bar
Man cave with comfortable seating and a large TV
Full bathroom with shower
Additional storage

The mezzanine will likely be constructed with engineered wood framing, with structural support columns concealed within the downstairs walls wherever possible.

I’m going for a modern industrial look that works with the existing steel building.

The pictures are conceptual renderings of what I’m envisioning. I’m still refining the design before moving into construction.

And for all the recliner snipers out there: Before the comments start, remember this subreddit is called Garage Porn! I’m not posting to show off or compete with anyone. I’m sharing because I enjoy seeing what others have built, getting ideas from people who’ve done similar projects, and hopefully inspiring someone else who’s dreaming about their own garage.

I’m retired, I’ve worked hard for what I have, and now it’s time to enjoy life and have some fun building the things I’ve always wanted.

Not everyone’s garage needs to look the same, and that’s what makes this subreddit interesting!

I’d genuinely appreciate ideas, suggestions, and lessons learned from anyone who’s tackled something similar.

Now, what am I missing? What would you add or change?

Advice

So I built this little section of shelving to slide my tool box under and still have storage up and around it, to the right of it I’m going to build haxman’s version of the sliding bookshelf cabinet/storage. What I need advice on is what type of solution for actual containment for the shelves pictured. As you can see, while large, they end up just being so messy cause they’re almost too deep. What have you guys done for neatly storing things in larger shelves.

Thanks!
