Yeah what the fuck? Were the fairies always intended to be furry balls with wings? I always assumed they looked like...humanoid fairies but their tiny bodies were obscured by the bright light they gave off.

They had normal (cartoon) bodies in WW. Plus the Great Faries were all humanoid, except for the Great Fairy in WW strangely.

Also, here's a link to the ALTTP manual. Page 28 shows a fairy. It could be argued that it's a drawing of a great fairy, but the hair style, clothes, and colors are all different from what's in game.

They are, but AI doesn't know that

The witch hunt continues

"witch hunt" but the witches are real and they're really making the crops fail and the livestock die

So you accuse every other woman of being a witch and set half of them on fire.

What's the more reasonable take?

A human deliberately made Navi a furry globe despite that it's supposed to be light obscuring her true form,

Or this is a machine's interpretation of the original without having that context

Baselessly claiming Nintendo is using AI for core art assets in one of their most anticipated releases of the year - a remake of one of the most beloved games of all time - is indeed the less reasonable take.

They're not just baselessly claiming Nintendo used gen AI to handle the graphics for Navi, but that they had AI do it wrong, then looked at it and decided it was okay to just put out

Well they used AI in the trailer so where do you think they'll draw the line?

Just repeatedly claiming that everything is AI with zero evidence isn't how this works.

Leave the billion dollar company ALONE!

Uh huh.

No brand is above reproach.

who are you quoting? the voices in your head? that certainly isn't what I said.

Nintendo has turned themselves into a billion dollar company by very carefully curating and protecting their core IPs over many decades. They aren't about to light that on fire doing something so blatantly and knowingly unpopular with one of their most important franchise's most major releases. To suggest they are doing so because "the fairy is poofy" is absolutely asinine.

There are plenty of artistic choices worthy of criticism in the remake, but screaming "AI!" at everything you personally don't like just makes you come off as a buffoon.
