Got to the final part of the game. Wow, I don't think I have ever heard a MIDI this good.

I'm currently working on a fun article for nowplaying.cool, asking game music experts and enthusiasts why they love VGM so much. I'd love to hear your story! Feel free to share in the comments. I'll include a link to this post in my write-up, and feature some of your quotes (if you're okay with it, ofc).
For me, I'd say it all comes down to my family. I learned early to pay attention to sound; there was always music in the house growing up. Today, well, it kinda became my job, as I track new releases daily and listen to an average of 5 to 6 OSTs a day. It has become my way to connect with people, especially online, and has opened my horizons tremendously. I love how diverse it is, how bold it sounds. I usually listen to OSTs blindly, without knowing much about the game they're tied to. That's like daily mini-lootboxes. My dopamine fix.

Hi all! Kinda nervous since it’s my first time posting a cover on the internet. This is my original piano arrangement for the Kalm theme in FFVII! One of my favorite melodies in gaming, period. I guess I’d say it just feels like home, if that makes sense. Anyway, I tried to add a little of my personal taste to this one. Hope somebody likes it! Lol
P.S. It’s only half of it for now; might do the full song when I have more time 😫

I downloaded a .vgz file from this site, specifically the "Ice & Water" track from SegaSonic the Hedgehog but after putting it through vgm2mid I get an empty 1kb midi file. I tried the exe only and full files versions of the tool but none worked.

I wanted to convert .SPC files to .VGM so I could use them in SidWizPlus to create oscilloscope visualizations. I came across a program called "spc2vgm", designed for exactly this purpose, converting SPC files for emulation on a YMF278 core, but I just can't get it to work. I open vgm_cmp.exe and enter the command (the GitHub page gives an example: `spc2vgm song.spc --auto-playback -o converted/song.vgm`), but it doesn't work. Do I need to put the .SPC files in a specific folder? Am I typing the command incorrectly? Do I need to install extra software? Am I opening the wrong program?

Hiii!!! A while back I did a cover for one of my favorite game ost's ever, SH2R. This is probably my favorite song from the whole soundtrack, and quite recently it got to 100k views, quite an achievement for me since I'm a very small channel, and I'm extremely grateful for it. I thought of sharing it here for anyone that might find it useful. Hope you enjoy it!
