Recapped and USBC mod

Second one I've successfully brought back to life, out of many....

Btw, make sure to clean everything, was having an issue with the image fading fast as soon as I turned it on, turns out I had a short near C47 C49, funny thing it wasn't solder, was flux maybe not sure.

Did you have any issues when putting the case back together as the recap kit I got had a few that were a tiny bit bigger so the screen gets pushed out slightly when putting back together.

I didn't use a specific kit, I have a capacitor kit from Amazon that had all the necessary capacitors.

Didn't have any issues with the case at all, I've done them before, the only time I get issues with closing the case is when recapping the power supply, but I prefer the usbc so no issues.

Ah right nice one, I did have one of the kits from Amazon and dropped the lot on my drive and lost my shit lol it could be that I used a laminated screen but il go back to it after my next project. Cheers for the reply 🙏

Nice! I'm currently working on my second one. Battery contacts massively corroded and rusted so I've ordered more. Not sure if I should have just gone for USB-C mod!

You might need to work 1000uf around the support next to it, I have done one where I had to remove part of the support there. Usbc is easy mode, just costs $.

I've recovered battery leads by using a sonic cleaner, first used vinegar, than used fine sandpaper, then Sonic clean with alcohol.
