Megathread [MONTHLY MEGATHREAD] General Discussion, Simple Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else - October 2026

MONTHLY MEGATHREAD

Welcome to our regular pinned Megathread!

While many topics are allowed as standalone submissions, others that tend to be lower-effort, less notable, or easily answered belong in this thread instead. These include simple questions such as those related to receiving game assistance, game recommendation requests or help finding a specific game, and other general discussions that don't warrant a dedicated thread or aren't directly related to gacha gaming (provided they are not Banned Content).

Some specific examples of what these megathreads should be used for include:

  • Help remembering an old gacha game, or finding a new one to start playing
  • Recommendations for the best emulator to use on your device
  • Receiving updates on how ongoing games are doing from current players (“How is [game] doing these days?”)
  • Learning what people’s favorite games or types of games are, as well as how others feel about a particular game feature, event, monetization strategy, etc. in specific games
  • Getting clarification on what confusing or game-specific abbreviations mean
  • Finding where people learn about games or like to get their news and information from
  • Discovering new content creators that other players watch or recommend
  • Asking for any sort of general advice relating to gacha games at all
  • Discussing other topics that are only indirectly related to gacha, such as subreddit meta (select exceptions may be allowed as standalone submissions) or industry happenings

Generally, anything asking a question or requiring the opinions of others belongs here. We have many veteran Summoners who are happy to share their opinions and answers, or discuss the topics you may be interested in!

If you want to contribute, please first read the request or question thoroughly, before making sure not to recommend something already tried or provide the same advice as a previous comment left in response. Please also reply as neutrally as possible, without bashing games or arguing with others in the community– this is not about winning or losing, but sharing useful information that helps out another member. Replies should include the full names of anything mentioned, as new Summoners may not know what “GI”, “FGO”, or even “F2P” means. Even if they do, it's still helpful so that the results are easily searchable and others who aren't the OP can better follow along.

As a general reminder, both Reddiquette and all of our Subreddit Rules still apply here. Make sure to keep things respectful! Religious or political topics, sharing personal information, and other rule-breaking behavior are banned. Accounts involved in sharing these may be subject to disciplinary action at moderator discretion.

With that said, feel free to discuss whatever here and make acquaintance with your friendly gacha gaming neighbors!

✦ Update on the English Release ✦

Dear Starborn,

Since Azur Promilia was first revealed to players around the world and regional testing began across Asia, we have seen tremendous enthusiasm from Starborn everywhere. We've also been following your discussions closely, and your interest and support mean a great deal to us.

One question has come up time and again: Will Azur Promilia be released in English, and if so, when? Today, we'd like to share an official update.

Because development timelines differ across regions, the English version of Azur Promilia will not be included in the game's initial launch, and is instead scheduled for release at a later date.

Our goal is to deliver a high-quality English version with a wide range of characters, story content, events, and gameplay features available at launch. We are currently targeting summer 2027 for the English release. This timing remains subject to change as development progresses but we'll continue doing our best to bring Azur Promilia to even more players around the world.

In the meantime, our team is hard at work preparing the English version. We'll continue to share updates through our official social media channels so you can stay informed and follow our progress along the way.

General The History of Naruto Mobile

The History of Naruto Mobile
If you’re new to Naruto Mobile, you might be wondering what this game is all about and why so many people have been playing it for years. Well, I thought I’d share a bit of its history from a player’s perspective.
The Early Days (2016–2017)
Naruto Mobile was released in China in 2016. When the game first came out, it wasn’t exactly anything special. Like many other mobile games, it had plenty of gacha mechanics and ways to spend money. If that was all it had to offer, I doubt it would still be around today.
What really made the game stand out, though, was its PvP combat system. The developers somehow managed to create a fighting system that was simple enough to pick up but had a surprising amount of depth. Every character had their own skills, combos, and playstyle, and learning how to use them effectively made a huge difference in battles.
At some point, PvP became the heart and soul of the game. It was no longer just about collecting your favorite Naruto characters. It was also about mastering them, learning matchups, predicting your opponent’s moves, and improving your own skills.
The Game Finds Its Identity (2018–2020)
As the game continued to develop, PvP became increasingly important to its identity. New characters, balance changes, and different ways to compete gave players reasons to keep coming back.
Of course, the monetization side of the game never disappeared. New characters could be expensive to obtain, and keeping up with the latest releases wasn’t always easy for free-to-play players. But despite all that, the combat itself remained the main attraction.
One of the most interesting things about Naruto Mobile is that a character’s strength isn’t determined entirely by their stats. A skilled player can sometimes beat someone with better characters simply by understanding the matchup, managing cooldowns, and making better decisions. That’s a big part of what keeps the competitive side interesting.
The Era of New Characters and Competitive PvP (2021–2023)
By this point, Naruto Mobile had established itself as a long-running Naruto game with a dedicated player base in China.
The game continued releasing new versions of familiar characters, including powerful forms from different parts of the Naruto story. For longtime players, getting a new character wasn’t just about adding another name to their collection. It was also about figuring out how that character would fit into the existing PvP environment.
However, the game also became increasingly demanding for players who wanted to stay competitive. New releases could shake up the meta, and keeping up with the strongest characters often required a significant investment of time or money.
This created a pretty familiar situation: some players were there mainly because they loved Naruto, while others were deeply invested in the competitive side of the game. Many players were both.
A Game That Has Lasted for Years (2024–2026)
After nearly a decade, Naruto Mobile has become much more than just another licensed mobile game. It has developed a long history of characters, metas, competitive strategies, and player experiences.
For longtime players, the game is full of memories: the characters they saved up for, the metas they loved or hated, the opponents they struggled to beat, and the moments when they finally mastered a difficult matchup.
At the same time, the game has its fair share of frustrations. Power creep, monetization, and the pressure to keep up with new characters are common concerns. And because PvP is such a central part of the experience, balance issues can have a major impact on how enjoyable the game feels.
Still, there’s a reason people have stuck around for so long. The core combat system offers something that many other mobile games struggle to replicate: the feeling that winning a fight can depend on your own skill, not just the amount of money you’ve spent.
So, Why Does Naruto Mobile Still Matter?
Personally, I think the most interesting thing about Naruto Mobile is the contrast between its monetization and its gameplay.
On the surface, it looks like a typical gacha game built around a popular anime franchise. But underneath all the character releases and spending mechanics, there’s a competitive fighting game that has kept players engaged for years.
The developers could have made a much more ordinary Naruto collection game, but the PvP system gave the game a unique identity. Over time, that identity became one of its biggest strengths.
Now, with Naruto Mobile finally preparing to reach an international audience, new players will have the opportunity to experience a game that has already spent years evolving in China.
For anyone interested in Naruto, competitive fighting games, or both, it’s definitely a game worth keeping an eye on.
I’m still figuring out how to use Reddit, so I thought I’d share a PvP match I played here. Using characters with connections to each other in PvP can trigger some fun little easter eggs!
I’m not a pro player, so the gameplay might be a bit boring to watch, but this is what the actual game looks like!

General Answers to All Your Questions About Naruto Mobile

Hey guys! I’ve noticed that a lot of you have questions about that game that ranked second worldwide in mobile game revenue in September. Since there’s been a lot of subjective information posted by Chinese players on various platforms, I figured I’d make this post to give you an objective perspective and answer all your questions about the game, including its gameplay, monetization, graphics, and more.

General [PROMO] I made a server to keep track of Gacha events, codes and news

Post image
194 Upvotes

Hi everyone.

A few months ago I started working on a server called Gacha Focus. At first, it was just something I made for personal use.

I play a few gacha games and I was always checking different places for events, codes, banners, and news. Reddit, X, official websites, wikis, Discord, and so on. Since I don't always have time to keep up with everything, I started building some automations to bring all of that information into one place.

Over time, the project grew more than I expected. I started adding more sources, automating events and codes, organizing banners and news, and building a few tools to make things easier to follow.

I originally had no plans to make it public, but I thought it could also be useful for other people who don't have much time to search through different websites and communities every day.

So I decided to open the server for anyone who wants to use it.

Right now we follow games like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, Wuthering Waves, Reverse: 1999, Path to Nowhere, AFK Journey, Epic Seven, and Arknights: Endfield, and I'm slowly adding more content over time.

https://discord.gg/jvz5b9GFhr

I really appreciate it if you decide to give the server a chance. It's a quiet server and isn't really meant for chatting, it's mainly for checking events and other useful information.

We currently have events, redeem codes, banners, news summaries, and more.

If you decide to join, thank you so much. I really appreciate it <3

General Recreating Guardian Cross (Old SQEX Gacha) - Here's my progress so far! [GUARDIAN LEGACY]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey all,

Anyone else still miss Guardian Cross? I've been working on and off for a while on a fan reconstruction of it, called Guardian Legacy (lol), and figured it's time to show it to people who might actually care lol. Short demo of current build so far.

So far, here's what I have:

- Hunting works like the original: aim the scope, shoot to tame guardians. Day and night courses on all 5 regions (so 10 maps), plus a special map (Babylon) - I didn't play the game near the end of its lifespan so can't recall how other maps were handled.

- Battle system needs work, but mostly works for now. Need better sound FX and isn't as slick as the original animations wise yet.

- Hunt tables match the original game's encounter lists for each map, so the right guardians show up in the right places

- About 600 guardians in the catalogue, filterable by map, day/night, rarity and element, and sortable by stats

- Battles: story stages, coliseum and friend battles WIP right now..

- Guardian management: combine/enhance, build your deck, sell cards... UI still WIP.

- A home screen styled like a hunter's desk, with your world map and favourite cards on it... My own take on the home screen, the original had a map overlay of clickable missions... this feels cleaner.

I want to cut the gacha UI entirely and thinking of implementing friends and trading instead somehow. No idea really on how to get that working for now. For now, a lot of the art is pretty low res, because the archived card images I could find are tiny (some are 200×300). If anyone has or knows where to find HD art for the guardians, please shout. That would make a huge difference.

Honestly, any feedback is welcome: features you'd want really badly, things the original did later in its lifespan I maybe missed, or stuff you'd change. Also... I'm also not sure yet how to handle updates going forward. Maybe a Discord? Let me know if people would be into that.

Thanks for reading!

FYI - this is of course an unofficial, non-commercial fan project. i will eventually implement my own art down the line to avoid any issues in the future. All guardian cross art and names belong to Square Enix!

(JP) News "Infection x Girl" End of Service on December 10, after 10 years (August, 2016)

Post image
209 Upvotes

"Infection x Girl" is an RPG set on the artificial island "Nagisa New Town," which is overrun with zombies. It is a smartphone version of the browser game of the same name that was in operation from May 2014, and while inheriting the world setting, the game system, characters, and scenario have been revamped. Players control girls who unleash hidden powers as their "infection level" increases, and fight against zombies while controlling this value.

The smartphone version began service on August 4, 2016, and will end after approximately 10 years and 4 months.
