i saw a couple of wasps in the bushes (or in the tree idk what it is probably the bushes) cuz my mom trimmed them down and i have to pick up the pieces of the bush and i saw a couple of wasps going in and out. i told my mom that there is a nest in the bush. she didn’t believe me at first but when she checked with my big sister, they found one. a real nest. a real goddamn motherfucking explosive diarrhea like an atom bomb fuck fuck fuck fuckin wasp nest. we don’t know what to do with it yet but we do know that we had to call an exterminator. end of story. fuck wasps.

My dad was trimming some bushes and didn’t know there was a wasp nest until it was too late. He was chased down the street by them. Now when he walks outside he gets harassed by them and he’s been stung three times now. As funny as this is, I’m wondering if there’s a way he can call a truce?

> be me
> feel like going outside for fresh air and sunshine
> take electric tennis racquet because it's hot out and wasps are assholes
> go to the backyard
> out of nowhere a wasp is suddenly in my face then just as suddenly it's gone
> i jook my head around "whaaaaaa, motherfucker" and ready my electric racquet
> several red carolina wasps all casual 40 feet away pretending nothing happened
> i go inside

Everytime I come home from work now I find them in my kitchen but mostly found in my living room. I’m freaking the hell out. At least an ID would help.

Zapped my first wasp ever. They normally never come inside so I don’t really need to worry about them. After I killed it I noticed it has this fuzz growing on it. What is it?

I am 8 months pregnant. Single - so I live alone and allergic to these little whores. I noticed he was on my window so I closed the blinds to trap and he’s PISSED.
Should I attempt to vacuum him up? 🤣 idk what to do, I haven’t had a wasp in my house..ever lmao
Google says yes and no so I’m here 🧍🏼♀️

This went way worse than expected after some liquid courage. Didn’t get stung though

My six-day-old sting suddenly woke me up last night due to extreme itching. There are hives all around it now. The whole thing is probably like 4-5 inches in diameter. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

Woke up to hit the head tonight and saw this guy on the bathroom wall in my peripheral. I didn’t have my glasses on and immediately thought it was a “mosquito hawk”. I didn’t want it flying into our room and landing on my face so I reached over, pinched it in my fingers and was going to drop it in the toilet when it stung me like 8 times on my thumb… asshole 😂

Hello all, I was hearing the odd noise behind my bedroom curtain and upon investigating I saw the silhouette of this creature bouncing around behind it. I'm not very knowledgeable but I'm guessing it's a wasp. I'm assuming the thing was half dead due to the seasons changing because it didn't really put up much of a fight, and I had a similar experience with a huge black wasp last year around this time. I am a bit of a wuss who is repulsed by anything hornet or wasp related and I managed to kill it without being stung. Honestly I don't think it even knew what hit it. I felt like Peter from Family Guy with the frog when I was trying to scoop up its corpse to dispose of. Put nsfw up in case anyone is sensitive to this stuff.
I also cut it in half so if it looks kind of odd, that is why.
Kindly disregard the filthy window sill, I'll clean it eventually, and I apologize in advance if this doesn't fit here.

Well...., it's October; about the only time of the year when we have to deal with having a wasp or two in the house.
In late summer and early autumn, the last hornets hatched in a nest are Next Year's Queens. They are tasked with finding a safe place to spend the winter, so in the spring they can emerge and start a new next.
I think this is why we only have an issue around October. These queens to be want to spend the winter in our warm abode. I used to use spray poisons to kill them, but I worry about exposing our pets.
We have a vacuum cleaner with a clear plastic window and a detachable hose. Got home from work today and saw two hornets on the inside of the window. They look a little larger than typical worker hornets, and this is the time of year for queens.
I've been vacuuming up hornets for a few years now. It seems pretty safe, we haven't been stung yet. It's also a little rewarding to feel & hear their hard little exoskeletons bounce through the tubing, and then seeing them crawl around In the dry, dusty bin and f the vacuum cleaner.
You can see the two intruders in the video.

Noticed this ground nest a couple days ago. I unloaded a can and a half of wasp spray. I just did this early this morning while it was cool, thinking they wouldn’t be very active. Most of the ones I killed seemed be flying in from surrounding trees/shrubs and approaching the nest so they were definitely active. Like 3-5 at a time and I would spray them when they got close. I did aim a decent amount into the hole but I’m thinking I didn’t get many if they were deeper.
I’m brand new here, so any advice on how to deal with this moving forward is appreciated.

We killed this wasp inside the house. That’s my index finger for size reference. My son said he saw at least one more of these outside the house. We are in southern Illinois USA. Can you ID it from the photo?
