Avelo Airlines just announced nonstop flights from McKinney to Sarasota/Bradenton and West Palm Beach, bringing its planned network to 11 destinations.

Flights begin November 11, with the two newest Florida routes launching in December.

The airline says advance bookings are already exceeding expectations.

For Frisco residents, McKinney could offer another airport option depending on destination and price.

My girlfriend and I moved to North Dallas this past year so I am still familiarizing myself with the area. I am looking to propose soon and wanted some suggestions on a possible spot. Ideally, I’d love somewhere that isn’t too crowded or public, with a beautiful backdrop for photos. Something scenic, romantic, and a little more private would be perfect! Currently, the Arboretum is my top choice but I wanted to see what else is out there. If it is a spot in North Dallas area that is a bonus! Saw two Robotaxis parked by the Chipotle on Main and Coit but I don’t see in the app that we are in the service area. Anyone has insights if Frisco is being considered for the pilot?

I’ve been told it’s a no shave procedure, so I’m paying a bit of a premium, but I’ve been told it initially not noticeable (then hopefully noticeable when it grows out!) I know another option is Turkey, but perhaps it’s worth it to stay in the area if I know they can be trusted

I was pleasantly surprised by everything. Most importantly our 2 year old had a blast.

The park was clean and bigger than I thought it would be. Not fully immersive like Disney World, but it’s not Disney. And let’s be real: it’s for young kids. It’s perfectly good enough.

She loved all the different play areas and the live character stuff, especially the Trolls Techno dance party snd getting to meet a “real” baby dinosaur. Looking forward to going again mid-week when the weather is cooler and we can hit up the rides a little easier.

Cons: parking was weird and a little tedious. Not sure how they managed to overcomplicate parking. Also, it was still pretty warm. Not sure I’m up for going during that entire 4-6 month period here where it gets atrociously hot. Then again, she had so much fun at the splash pad.

Anyway, I had a feeling the initial reports panning the place were your typical internet/reddit negativity, and I’m glad that it seems to be the case. We will be getting yearly passes for sure.

If you have kids in the target range (2-10ish) then go check it out!

Did anyone see that accident on Hillcrest and Panther Creek yesterday around 10:20 AM? It was very loud.

I’ve tired living in this hell hole for 5 years. I put in effort to get to know people. Got involved in church, in my kids school, tried going to the office. None of it works. 90% of people are fake, especially if they’re from DFW. It makes relationship building a bit impossible, because there’s always an air of, “I’m never going to tell you what I really think,” from people. Either that or there an entirely different culture and want nothing to do with you and your kids. The churches are also just money machines designed to “sell” you Jesus. There was literally a guy on “stage” (because why would you have a proper alter with a cross in a Christian church?) saying he left being a pastor to become a sales person. He said it was the same thing. Then the pastors get caught up in a sex scandal, and they put the church “under new management” and start things all over again.

The homes are three variations of the same design, stamped out like they were all built in the same factory over and over again. Master planned communities are laid out on a grid, sapping any randomness away from your landscape that you could’ve hoped for. Every road has a shopping plaza plaza on it for you to try to dump your money into to try to create some meaning in life, but all the foods the same bland garbage because it’s all really just processed garbage from the same Sysco warehouse. If you’re lucky enough to find a restaurant that’s not a franchise reselling cancer on a plate, they’re lucky to stay in busIness.

“The schools are great!” what schools are you talking about? The ones on a website that say theyre great, or an actual school. Have you been in a school? All the schools I’ve seen have kids flipping over desks and disrupting class so no one can learn. Pepole take their kids out of public school by 4th grade the latest if they have the money to because after that it’s even more chaotic. heaven help you if you’re of European decent and have a kid in Kindergarten or 1st grade. He or she will be the only kid who looks like him and has a last name you can pronounce.

Your backyard is three fenced in walls and a patio that’s 115 degrees in the summer. Every winter it snows and ices and the wbole place shuts down for a week because no one understands that if you put some salt on the road and a plow on your waste management trucks you could actually get rid of the ice and drive when it’s below freezing.

This place is hell. You get fooled to move in by all the great things you read about it, then you move there and can never eacape.

I visited the Gong Cha on Warren for some tea on Thursday. The next day, my mother gets a text thanking her for visiting and offering her a discount code.

She accompanied me on Thursday but stayed in the car, I was the only one who entered the store. I did not give them any phone number, and I used my own personal card that she’s not connected to in any way.

How on earth would Gong Cha know who to send a text to? I’m sick and tired of companies getting your information without you giving it to them.

I was originally going to go to TP tea nearby but you cannot go there without forcibly driving past one of the 5 Flock cameras that Academy set up (mentioned in the recent post on this sub).
