Hi,

I've recently installed ColumnsUI to enhance my experience with foobar. As the community saying goes, "the best theme is the one you made yourself", so I tried that approach. In the old DefaultUI, I had the whole library list and current playlist side by side. That let me quickly create a new playlist and populate it. Just double-click the track in the library area and "bang!" it was at the end of the current playlist.

But for the life of me, I cannot reproduce it in the ColumnUI in the way I want it to look. Sure, there is the "Album list panel", but as the name states, it is just the list. I really want to see the covers in the library area.

Another issue I have is that reFacets filters only work in Playlist view. When I switch to Library, clicking once on the filter value just highlights it; clicking twice adds all tracks with such an attribute to the current playlist. I just want to browse :(

Minor issues: I cannot remove the "Add to favourites" button near the Search Filter on the toolbar; ctrl+Z no longer reverts changes to the Playlist (it worked like this in DefaultUI)

im pretty new to this sort of thing and this is my first time trying the app. im not very knowledgable on tech, i just like music a lot, so im having trouble figuring out how to put my own flac files onto foobar. ive tried googling it, but all the results are outdated by at least two years. where do i go from here to add my own flac files onto the app?

i just want to listen to the music ive been downloading without manually switching the songs :')

I recently discovered Foobar and I am loving it. Just cancelled Spotify. Uploaded all my CDs. Bought an MD player. Set up a home server to stream the music locally.

I am currently using Apple Music to download my CDs. Is there an advantage to using the Foobar application instead? I am recording everything as Lossless currently.

Also, Is there a way in the Foobar app to download an album to listen to it offline? Currently all my music is on my home computer and I am using Tailscale to connect remotely.

I've used Foobar for 20 years or more, but the Windows ARM64 version is killing me. Foobar v2.24 plays smoothly. v2.26 and all x64 versions on my ARM laptop cut out as if it's a buffering issue.

All output and advanced buffering settings are identical between the 2.24 and 2.26 ARM versions. Both are plain vanilla portable installs. My x64 laptop plays fine in all versions. Music is on an attached hard drive.

Anybody else getting this behavior?

Hi everyone — I’m the creator of Cyan Leaf, a custom interface for foobar2000 on Mac. I wanted to bring the feel of a classic hi-fi system to my music library: a brushed-metal finish, cyan controls, analog-style meters and animated visuals.

Cyan Leaf includes five visual worlds, album artwork and library browsing. It installs as a foobar2000 component plus a separate layout file; it isn’t a standalone player.

The current build is for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later), macOS 12+, and has been tested with foobar2000 for Mac 2.26. It does not support Intel Macs, Windows or iPad.

Hi! this is an archive terminal for listening: Swiss typography, a monochrome palette with one accent colour, and a sci-fi layer - your albums as rendered specimen cases on shelves, a Möbius signal ring that pulses with the music, synced lyrics (fetched online when your files have none), ten case skins and five colour schemes in light and dark. I built it with Claude doing most of the coding and rendering, with me directing the design. Feedback and bug reports welcome! :)

More often than not, that red line is there, and the spectrum will sometimes stop at the closest vertical line next to it on the left

I drag the cue into Foobar 2000. I have created a conversion preset to save the files with this format

I tried for output path selecting Source track folder, I tried using specify folder with $directory_path(%path%)

and .\

also $directory_path('%path%')

and I tried copying and pasting from Explorer the complete path to where the source flac file and cue file are, with and without a \ at the end.

I have looked inside the cue file to ensure the file name in it exactly matches the flac file name.

YES I have saved the preset, and loaded it, making sure the Current settings show what I want.

I have tried running it normally and as an administrator.

What happens every single time? Instead of just getting on with cutting up the large flac file into MP3s, it opens my Windows 11 Documents folder, asking where to put the files and for a file name.

Why can this not simply have a "Put output file(s) into the same folder as the source file." that Just Effing Works?

Format Factory and many other apps I've used for working with sound and video have such options that actually do this. Select put output in source folder and glory be, it does it. No need for fiddling around with all kinds of cryptic command line switches.

AI DISCLAIMER: This was developed with Claude and locally ran models with each and every little tweak and input carefully crafted and inputted by myself in efforts to bring my dream f2k theme to life.

This is a theme that I was working on for a while and it's now in a state that I can be comfortable enough to release to the masses. Follow the link here to download and install the theme and to also read up on the full feature list.

Inspiration: I've always wanted a theme that re-elicited the feelings of using those older media players like WMP and Winamp where information was crowded with multiple panels giving the user near total customization, but sadly no sort of foobar2000 theme that I would download and painstakingly search for all the configurations and plugins to work in tandem with the theme would satisfy that craving. Furthermore, a majority of the themes out there, AI coded or not, are all trying to replicate the cookie-cutter Netflix/Spotify type UIs that are honestly just boring and were practically UI slop before the coding abilities of AI was even as sophisticated as it is now. No one is daring or even trying to go crazy with being different with AI tools, or even have a "vision" of what they want the user to do. So I took the reigns upon myself to do so, and this is effectively the result.

Neat features:

• Auto color changing theme based on album artwork. Can choose between a mono-colorscape or if you want multiple colors within an album cover
• 3D visualizers that react to the music you listen to. You get a choice between 3 with future ones currently in development
• Multiple UI elements react to the music you listen to, such as the background effects in the main deck, the seekbar for the waveform timeline, etc., to really make the music feel "alive"
• Dynamic File Source icon - Depending if your file was sourced from a CD, Vinyl, Cassette, Floppy Disk, 8-Track, or really just any format you can think of, the Source icon in the Control Pod will adjust to match.
• The theme will detect the .log of any EAC/XLD ripped copies and inform you to ensure that the album you are listening to is 100% valid

Hi. I'm using Foobar on S26 U just for internet radio. Sometimes even if all background apps are closed Foobar start playing last station after hours from closing it. Had same problem on S21 U. Using only with bluetooth conection (earbuds, speakers or car audio). It can start playing in middle of the night when it's not connected to bluetooth so phone speakers blasting DnB

I have bought Toneboosters Morphit AUv3 plugin on iPhone and installed it. By itself, the morphit app can be opened and has sample rate set to 48khz , only option available and audio buffer size set to 256 default, and when I hit Test on it, I can hear a tone so it does seem to work. You can see the UI in the second screenshot I attached.

In foobar2000:

I turn on More Settings > Tweaks > Enable Audio Unit DSP extensions

Go to More Settings > DSP Manager - and I can see a bunch of AU Apple plugins, TubeSound and Morphit. I can enable Morphit and click on the cog wheel and it opens up the morphit ui and can select a headphone source and target to simulate but no config options for sample rate or audio buffer size. You can see this in the last screenshot I attached.

I hit play on any flac file, 16/44.1 that works when morphit is disabled but with it enabled I get this error “Critical playback error: Unsupported format or corrupted file” - You can see this in the first screenshot.

I have tried putting the resampler plugin before/after morphit setting it to 44.1,48,96,192khz and also tried changing the More Settings > Audio > Bit depth to 16,16-dithered,24,32 but still getting the error.

If I disable Morphit and leave no dsp enabled or even if I enable another one such as TubeSound, which I believe come from the TubeSound app, playback works as expected.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed?

I'm looking for a way to submit my listening data to Lastfm using Foobar2000. I usually stream my FLACs over SMB.

The default Lastfm app does have support to send listening data, although it only works if you sync your music with iTunes. Is there a way where I can automatically send my listening data to Lastfm while using Foobar2000 for iOS? Thanks!

I'm using v2.26 on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC.

I've been dealing with this for days. The background was solid black, and I wanted slightly lighter (charcoal) stripes on every other song. I couldn't find a setting for that anywhere.

I know a lot of people hate AI, and I am not promoting it or Gemini in particular; I just wanted to share what I was able to do and how I did it.

Google Gemini told me that I needed to fix that with a change in code and to go to Display > Playlist View > Globals > Style tab and change the code. Well, I know nothing about that, so I copy/pasted the code into Google Gemini and told it what I wanted, and it redid the code. Then I replaced the old code with the new and clicked Apply, and it worked like a charm.

The light grey was a little lighter than I wanted, so I asked Gemini to do it again with a slightly darker shade of charcoal, and it generated new code that I used, and it's exactly what I wanted. I'm so happy! LOL

I was VERY nervous doing this, so I copied the original working code to a document so I could retrieve and replace it if the new code messed everything up. I did this on a portable version of foobar2000 by the way.
